FaZe lock first place in DH Masters Group C to move on to upper bracket

With a close 2-0 victory over fnatic, FaZe have secured a flawless record in Group C of DreamHack Masters Spring - Europe to book their ticket in the upper bracket semi-finals.

Having taken down Spirit and GODSENT in closely-contested matches beforehand, the European mixture passed their hardest test so far after the loss of Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer as they locked their third consecutive victory with stand-in Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras in the DreamHack Masters Spring group stage.

fnatic's fate in the tournament is now out of their hands after the Swedes won just one in three matches, against GODSENT. Their future depends on the result of the last match of the group between Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend's team and Spirit, who defeated fnatic 2-0, which puts the Swedes in danger of losing a potential three-way tie between the three teams and get eliminated should GODSENT come out victorious.

FaZe secure a flawless group stage record in their debut with Bymas

FaZe chose Dust2 to kick off the series and went on to grab an early lead after their stand-in, Bymas, put up three kills in the opening pistol round. The first gunrounds were in fnatic's hands as the Swedes strung six in a row on the defense, but in the end just one round separated the two teams when a couple of B hits helped FaZe even things out.

When sides switched, fnatic looked in control, but when they reached 14 rounds they hit a wall. With Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Marcelo "coldzera" David finding openings with their AWPs, FaZe brought the map back from the brink of defeat and chained six rounds together to pick up a 16-14 victory.

The Swedish giants looked to strike back on Overpass, where they got off to a great start after converting Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin's entries into a pistol round victory and eventually a 5-1 lead. FaZe managed to stop the rot early, though, defending the B bombsite a couple of times in a row and dominating the rest of the half, with fnatic only being able to add one more round to their tally on the back of a 2v4 from Robin "flusha" Rönnquist and Brollan.

The Swedes went on to regain the lead as Brollan's pistol heroics were on display again, but their advantage was soon gone when FaZe started outplaying the rotation game with a couple of well-executed fakes and went on to grab a 14-11 lead. It appeared fnatic would pull off the comeback when they managed to force the European mixture on pistols after clinching two consecutive rounds, but a Deagle buy saw FaZe reach match point and close the series at 16-13.

Golden, Krimz and Brollan look chill guys to me. Flusha and JW sure look ego centric in the matches but they have been in the scene long enough to know that gets them no where. I mean I don't mind them being bad but I just wanna know how they became shite all of sudden
2020-05-27 20:36
They dont lool that bad tbh ..just some confidence and communication issues i think...+ I think fnatics playstyle is a bit harder online cz they thrive under pressure and their playstyle is basically abusing mistakes players make and the more chill the environment the less mistakes happen usually

Not giving a shit about a match that would have got them more points which contribute towards the Major, pretty accurate. Seem like they aren't giving a shit about lot of matches because apparently they are losing many of them.

Yeah, they are loosing way too many matches. And they care about them and loose them anyways. But the movistar riders one was a match they played very disappointed and humiliated. To not give a fuck about that one is understandable. Now they just lost their rhythm and I hope they will find it back. I don’t want to go back to being fan of a disappointing team for a couple of months..

The Katowice win in 2018 was pretty nice. And I really like the new team - they had a decent run since malmö in October. But it depends too much on the individuals showing up, if you play that aggressive and with all these gambles. If it doesn‘t work out like lately it is frustrating. WHEN it works our however it is the most fun to watch I ever had watching cs:go. But yeah- nothing will top 2015-2016 with the run at cologne against envy and all that.

He played good in overpass. They will have some time for practice finally and will be able to improve
2020-05-27 20:40
+1.Now overpass will be a strong map for Faze after two events.B hold looking pretty strong now.
2020-05-28 08:24
Idk about you, but every normal person does not expect to be straight good, when you have no experience against t1 and t2 teams and you are 16 yo too. If you remember brooky joining, it wasnt easy neither. They need time, but with this potential they will have 2 great players with no buyout needed. And when they want, they can sell them expensive AF.

No way.You know it right G2 is not that good.Jackz and kennys chokes pretty hard when playing against T1 teams.nexa and hunter are ok.Amanek is always below average. With bymas gaining confidence each day I believe Faze got a good chance this time onwards.Cold and Niko are consistent.Broky and bymas are fine.Rain’s performance gonna only decide the margin of win but win is a sure thing.

This bymas kid might be something worth watching out for. FaZe could possibly raise his value here by playing on T1 cs and gaining experience like what they did w/ broky. I mean this could be a potential 200iq move from faze to sell him once his value is high and they could use the money to land a big name that would be better for the team in the long run. Or he could possibly just turn out to be like a broky and will continue to play for faze
2020-05-28 09:18
I think if they could get Bymas to full potential they will prob keep him, it's not worth to drop 16 yo who has 5+ years of good cs and grab player with few years left of good cs :)
2020-05-28 11:58
