Espada, Nemiga & Gambit Youngsters finalize WePlay! Clutch Island team list, forZe miss out

The team list for the main portion of the Regional Major Ranking event for the CIS region, WePlay! Clutch Island, has been finalized after Espada, Nemiga, and Gambit Youngsters advanced from the closed qualifier.

The closed qualifier came to its conclusion on Thursday in the single-elimination playoffs bracket, after four teams were eliminated in the GSL group stage, with Moscow Five Academy and CR4ZY finishing last in their respective groups, while HellRaisers' and Syman's campaigns ended early as well.

FORZE had been the biggest favorites to make it through, especially after they topped their group over Gambit Youngsters, but the Russian side unexpectedly conceded a semi-final series to Nemiga and dropped to the third-place decider for another chance.

There, they were joined in a rematch against Gambit Youngsters after Espada clinched one of the top two spots over Dmitry "⁠sh1ro⁠" Sokolov's squad, who went on to overrun and take their revenge on FORZE for the last place in the WePlay! Clutch Island main event group stage.

Andrey "⁠Jerry⁠" Mekhryakov's team has earned 1,000 points, which puts FORZE in ninth of the CIS ranking at best after their consecutive disappointment in the RMR series after ESL One: Road to Rio. Meanwhile, HellRaisers and Syman are still yet to play a tenth-place decider for 875 points, which will either see Dmitriy "⁠jR⁠" Chervak's team earn their first chunk of points or Sanzhar "⁠neaLaN⁠" Iskhakov's side climb to eighth place in the ranking.
