fnatic defeat c0ntact to secure last cs_summit 6 Europe spot
fnatic beat PACT and c0ntact in the cs_summit 6 Europe regional qualifier lower bracket to secure a spot in the upcoming RMR tournament.
c0ntact spoiled Complexity’s chances of making it to cs_summit 6 by winning their first lower bracket best-of-three of the day, dealing a big blow to the European-American team who stand in fourteenth place in the European Regional Major Ranking with 350 points from ESL One: Road to Rio. They then took fnatic to three maps in the fifth place decider, but were unable to stop the Swedes who claimed the final spot in the RMR event.
Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin popped off with four kills in the first round of the series against c0ntact on the CT side of Mirage to ease fnatic into a 1-0 lead, but the Swedes were quickly countered in the anti-forcebuy as the European combine, now with Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer now in the mix, made a game of it early on. After winning the forcebuy they went on to take a 2-1 lead, and kept it after the two teams traded rounds, making it 3-2, but that would be it for c0ntact on the attacking side as they were unable to score another round in the half.
A second pistol round in which four players survived put fnatic comfortably on their way to locking down the first map. c0ntact then tried to forcebuy their way out of the hole, but unable to win a single round were quickly overrun 3-16 on their map pick.

c0ntact got off to a 2-0 lead on the CT side of Train before the two teams traded rounds. Otto "ottoNd" Sihvo then ninja defused in a 1vs1 against Robin "flusha" Rönnquist to keep his team ahead 4-1. fnatic quickly found themselves ahead once again, however, firing on all cylinders to lead 7-4. The European mixture saved face late in the half with back-to-back rounds, but still went down 6-9 at the half as fnatic drew close on the last cs_summit 6 Europe spot.
fnatic hit double digits in the first round of the second half, but weren’t able to follow up as c0ntact won the forcebuy. A triple by Brollan wasn’t enough in fnatic's own forcebuy, but it did keep the attacking team’s economy in check. After the full eco, the Swedish squad got back on the warpath as flusha won a 1vs1 against Snappi to make it 12-9. They then went up to 14-9 when Snappi was able to get one back in a duel against flusha, which turned the tide of the map as c0ntact pushed it to overtime.
c0ntact carried their momentum into the overtime, winning the three first rounds to hit match point, and although fnatic fought back with two of their own, breaking the CT's economy in the last round of overtime, they were unable to push it to a second overtime as the match went into the decider map.

Brollan downed three players in the attacking pistol round of Overpass to go up 1-0. fnatic followed it up twice going 3-0 before c0ntact could reply. The sixth round came down to a 1vs1 between Luka "emi" Vuković and Jesper "JW" Wecksell in an afterplant on A, but it was the Swede who came out on top to keep his team ahead. Down 3-6 Snappi downed three Terrorists with a desert eagle as Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov downed two with a hero AK to try and keep their team in the game, but they eventually went to the half down 4-11.
Doubles by emi and Snappi kept c0ntact in the game after the second pistol round as they got to 7-11, but once full buys were in play on both sides fnatic reimposed their dominance, going on to close the map out 16-7 to secure their presence at cs_summit 6 Europe.
