Gen.G defeat Chaos in cs_summit 6 North America Group B elimination match
Damian "daps" Steele and company saw to the elimination of the Joshua "steel" Nissan-less Chaos roster in the Group B elimination match, putting up a solid T side effort on Mirage before closing out the map in fast fashion on the defense. Inferno began with Chaos in the lead, but once Gen.G found their footing, the lead remained firmly in their favour as they took home a 16-9 victory to send Chaos packing. The victory sets Gen.G up against the loser of the Group B winners' match between 100 Thieves and Cloud9, and also ensures them a larger share of the RMR points on offer through cs_summit 6 North America.
Two Glock kills from Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand ensured a successful attack in middle for Gen.G to kick off their pick of Mirage, with the team taking two additional rounds to reside upon a 3-0 lead. The AWPs of Jonathan "Jonji" Carey and Anthony "vanity" Malaspina and a trio of frags from Erick "Xeppaa" Bach aided Chaos en route to a tie game, but Timothy "autimatic" Ta stepped up to bat with his own sniper rifle as Gen.G regained the upper hand. Multi-kills from Sam "s0m" Oh and daps kept the DreamHack Anaheim champions in control as they edged out a handful of late-round situations to push up to nine rounds, with vanity and Xeppaa helping their side string together three rounds at the end of the half for a 9-6 scoreline.
Another double kill from BnTeT gave Gen.G another pistol round victory, with the team suffering some damage in the ensuing rounds but wasting little time in moving up to a 12-6 lead. A win in the first gun round offered Chaos the opportunity to begin a comeback effort, but a loss to a pistol force-buy quickly drowned those hopes as momentum swung in the favour of Gen.G, who wasted little time in closing out the map, 16-8.
Chaos started off on better footing on Inferno, Xeppaa and Nathan "leaf" Orf leading the charge for their side to lead 5-1, but that energy quickly dwindled as Gen.G began to mount a solid defense. BnTeT, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, and autimatic combined to put Gen.G back in the running, taking eight of the remaining ten rounds in the half to edge out a one-round lead at the break.
Much like on Mirage, Gen.G took home the second pistol, running with the momentum of the victory as they pushed up to a 13-7 lead. A late peek into mid with pistols finally gave Chaos their first round on the defense, but an immediate reply from daps' crew kept Gen.G ahead as they only conceded one additional round before closing out the series with a 16-9 win on Inferno.
