GODSENT upset G2, Vitality beat North to move on to cs_summit 6 playoffs
GODSENT have continued their surprising run at cs_summit 6 as they took down G2 for a playoffs spot at the Regional Major Ranking event, with Vitality joining them as the second team to make the bracket stage thanks to a clear-cut win over North.
Unpredictability has been the name of the game for the past few months as every tournament has had different winners and witnessed plenty of upsets, though few were quite as big as GODSENT's victory over the team currently ranked as the best in the world, G2.
Martin "STYKO" Styk's and company have certainly turned things around at cs_summit after rather disappointing campaigns at DreamHack Masters Spring and the ESL Pro League Season 12 Europe qualifier, over which GODSENT only won a single series in six.
Having first brought down mousesports in the opening round of Group A, the European mixture has added an even bigger scalp in the form of the French-Serbian side, who looked stunned throughout most of the series as GODSENT won Train 16-6 and went on to come back from 4-11 behind on Nuke on the back of lopsided CT sides.
Meanwhile, Vitality has secured first place in Group B after a win over North that saw the French side stay in control over the course of both maps. The Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen-led squad will go on to face Movistar Riders on Sunday in another rematch from the opening round of the tournament, which last time ended with the Danes on top after a close back-and-forth affair.
