Vitality advance to cs_summit 6 upper-bracket final over OG

After a confident Mirage (16-9) and nail-biter Overpass (28-26) Vitality secured a 2-0 victory over OG, moving on to the upper-bracket final of cs_summit 6 Europe.

In a match between Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt and his former team, it was the fully-French lineup that came out on top after two wildly different maps. On Mirage, OG didn't look dangerous aside from few rounds at the start, but they caused a lot of trouble to Vitality on Overpass, where 54 rounds were needed to decide the victor.

OG was off to a 5-3 start on Mirage, their map pick, following the pistol round win, before Cédric "RpK" Guipouy and Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier, the two anchors for Vitality, started stepping up. With their help, the French team managed to turn things around, taking a 9-6 lead before the second pistol round, where Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså stuck a smoke defuse to win it for OG.

After their CT pistol success, however, the European squad was overrun on the B defense by a second-round force, which spelled disaster. After finding themselves in a 12-7 deficit, NBK- and co. held off back-to-back B-split attempts, but that success was short-lived as Vitality dismantled the defense on A and ran away with the map, 16-9.

apEX's team secured at least a third-place finish in cs_summit 6 Europe

Another close pistol round win for OG was followed by a T-side force buy win by Vitality on Overpass, this time Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut doing the heavy lifting by securing 1v3 ace. After the Frenchmen went up 5-2, Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's men stabilized thanks to multikills from Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski and Issa "ISSAA" Murad, reaching a 7-5 lead.

OG weren't able to finish the half on a high, however, ultimately earning just eight rounds on the CT side, with their pistol round victory after the switch being canceled out by Vitality's force for the third time in a row. Vitality went on to reach a 13-10 advantage following RpK's 3K on B before valde and Aleksib combined to add one more to OG's tally as the Europeans managed a comeback. ISSAA was a key factor in them making it into overtime, where Vitality was on the ropes multiple times, but managed to keep fighting back and after four sets of overtime, close out their map pick 28-26.

i thought valde was supposed to be the carry. he's not been good enough in OG. Mantuu can't do it all and ISSAA is too inconsistent but that's expected.

If a team has no ability to close out the game, there is a lot of question if OG can even lift a trophy with this line up.

The maps they can play they look decent on, but not consistent at t1. The biggest problem right now is map vetos since they have weak Vertigo and Overpass, which means that enemies always win the veto. It will get even worse when LANS start again and they go against NA teams

Vitality can fight for the biggest tittles in the world, but I don't think they will be no.1 with this roster. OG is great, I think it's just the matter of time before they will re-enter TOP 20.
