GamerLegion unveil European roster featuring Zero

The German organization has officially announced their new lineup, featuring two Swedish, two British, and a Slovakian player.

GamerLegion has been reconstructing their roster since the Swedish lineup disbanded in March, when they parted ways with the likes of Fredrik "⁠freddieb⁠" Buö and William "⁠draken⁠" Sundin. Their new lineup was built around two remaining members: coach Rasmus "⁠Gux⁠" Ståhl and player Alfred "⁠RuStY⁠" Karlsson.

Zero joins GamerLegion as they go international

The 18-year-old Sean "⁠eraa⁠" Knutsson is the second Swede on the team alongside RuStY, while William "⁠mezii⁠" Merriman and Adam "⁠Adam9130⁠" Ahmad, previously of Vexed, make the switch from domestic to international CS by joining GamerLegion. Stats-wise, mezii is the standout player on the team, sporting a 1.15 rating from the 24 maps he played in the last three months.

The final piece of the puzzle is the 21-year-old Patrik "⁠Zero⁠" Žúdel, best known for his time in HellRaisers from 2016 to 2017. The Slovakian had taken a hiatus from CS after that team, but has dipped his toes back into competitive play with GameAgents in 2018 and Budapest Five in 2019.

The new GamerLegion lineup has already played nine official maps together, securing wins over the likes of Sprout and Nemiga in MDL, and have reached the top 16 of the DreamHack Open Summer 2020 Open Qualifier, where they were stopped by Syman.

They played uncontracted during the MDL season just to make sure they had a spot for the next season. It was just announced to be an official roster today. That's why it is news, that's why neither Liquipedia nor HLTV have had the "correct" roster updated on their pages. Talked about it with an editor on both sites. s34 was like a trial period and s35 will be the real deal. If they do poorly they will do roster changes. Otherwise they will try out this roster for a few seasons.

sure thing. But interesting is that they beat two good teams in June. Two teams that got strong cores and are much higher rank. some sort of indicator that this roster got potential.

I don't know who katop is. I am trying to work flameZ into the team (he actually baited me into thinking he was signing with them today) RuStY is IGL - he has been doing a really good job for being new to the role. It fits him well since he usually has been the support or lurker in his former teams. He has played under both good and bad IGLs so seems like he can avoid a lot of traps and watching his streams I know his coms are clean both in English and Swedish. Much better than most Swedish players

My response will have a few parts, sorry if it's scrambled up: -flamez would be a really good addition, but he seems to have a high ego and I doubt he would join this team, he probably thinks he is worth more than it. -katop is is a French player who's been in fpl-c for around a year and a half. He went afk in fpl month and a half ago to play for Team Divine in esea Main season 34 (they are currently in LB round 2 of playoffs but it seems that they are playing with a dead roster from what I know, they lost organizational backing and added SHANEY), but I think he'd be more than happy to leave for a project like GL. As for his profile, he's a selfless although skilled player who has a great understanding of the game for a fpl-c fragger (he can be a secondary caller). He's a nonamer because, as he himself stated, didn't try hard enough to build himself a relationship network in the scene in his beginnings. As someone who follows him a lot, he's definitely got enough skill for MDL. -I don't really understand your role in the GL structure: are you simply a fan wanting to help out your fav org, or are you an actual worker there?

Tbh I didn't follow you enough to make myself a true opinion about your character m, thigms was just a guess from my part, might be totally wrong though 😅. I said it because most fpl-c players are toxic and arrogant. Moreover I don't see why a player in your situation would refuse to play for such an org and with such players, apart because of a grudge against a player, to try hard qualification for fpl since you came close a few times, or because of the fpl-c player ego that I mentioned earlier. I assumed it was the third option but again I might be totally wrong. ^^

Sorry for late reply. I talked in DM with flameZ (he baited me and then later apologised in DM and we kept talking). From my understanding of that brief conversation he would love to be part of this team. He is already friends with at least one member (Eraa) and maybe more. I have never hear dmich about big ego, but being one of the best players from a small scene might create some sort of ego, for sure. Regarding French youngsters: If you are good, why wouldn't a team like LDLC pick you up? There are already too many decent mid tier French teams, so I don't think any international org/roster will look into your scene, even if you play FPL-C I don't know my role in GL either 😂 Let's just say I am a fan, that have talked privately to most players in most sports, as well as almost all manager and staff people. I am not employed nor paid by GL

Ok. That is a total of 60k for the whole roster the rest of 2020. That means just one of the players needs to get attention from a bigger eog and the team is paid for 2020 and 2021. Mezii got 3rd best rating in MDL. RuStY is a Swedish IGL (not like there are too many of those lying around), zero just needs to get back to 80% of his former self and Eraa is an 18 year old AWPer with multiple seasons of ESEA Advanced under his belt. Seems like this roster will pay for itself. And even if they don't sell a player it would be enough to get playoff spots in all t3 online events to pay for them

Eraa's contract ended in June and was added on trial right away, same with Mezii and Adam. RuStY has been part of GL since September and ZeRo- just got back to the game after his studies. I think this team is good enough to qualify for your DHO, MDL playoffs, win LootBet and WePlay events. They did beat both Nemiga and Sprout who have been top 30 recently and caw 1st and 2nd in MDL.

Nobody with more experience but I would get someone with enough experience and better individual form. Rallen would be good. He can play almost all roles and is proficient with both AWP and rifle. I would put him instead of Adam9130 and either elt him lurk/play extremity or put him close to Eraa and let ZeRo- and Mezii go rogue on each side of the map.
