Lekr0 to MAD Lions deal falls through
The future of the Swedish player is now up in the air after he rejected the Flashpoint champions.
Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson will remain on NIP's bench for the foreseeable future after his proposed transfer to MAD Lions collapsed, HLTV.org has confirmed. Talks between the two organisations were at a very advanced stage, but the Swedish player turned down the chance to join the Danish team.
MAD Lions had made the 27-year-old their priority as they look to add to their squad to replace Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen, who was reportedly moved to the bench in the aftermath of a disappointing last-place finish in the European qualifier for cs_summit 6, the second Regional Major Rankings (RMR) tournament in the continent.
Lekr0, who has been on NIP's bench since May, when he was replaced by Hampus "hampus" Poser in the Swedish team, will wait for other offers to come in before making a decision. In MAD Lions, he would have returned to a main rifler role after he spent the majority of his two-year tenure with the Ninjas as an in-game leader.
The Danish team will return to action in DreamHack Open Summer Europe, which will run between August 8 and 16. Before the end of the month, they will also compete in ESL One Cologne's European tournament, which will kick off on August 18.
