adreN comments on Grim's Liquid integration
The Triumph prospect will be given a majority of his roles from his former team.
In a morning stream on Wednesday, Liquid coach Eric "adreN" Hoag responded to inquiries about the team's impending change to their roster, which will reportedly see veteran Nick "nitr0" Cannella step down to make room for one of North America's most promising prospects, Michael "Grim" Wince.
When asked about what role the 19-year-old would fill on Liquid, adreN mentioned that Grim would "get most of the spots he was already playing", occupying "pretty much the same role he was in on his previous team." He also later went on to say that the team had not clocked in any practice hours with Grim as of yet.
When asked about a possible clash in spots between Grim and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, the Liquid coach went on to specify that the two players only overlapped in two spots out of the six maps that the team plays, not making mention of any specifics as to what maps or roles overlapped. In an answer to who would use the AWP, adreN said it would continue to be a shared role, one which has primarily alternated between Jake "Stewie2K" Yip and Keith "NAF" Markovic depending on maps and positions.
Grim being comfortable in his spots may be a crucial factor in Liquid making up for a lacklustre start to 2020. The former Triumph rifler has impressed since the start of the year, averaging a 1.31 rating against the likes of Evil Geniuses, MIBR, and 100 Thieves. He is set to debut for Liquid in their DreamHack Open Summer campaign, set to run from August 8-16.
