Official: Liquid sign Grim

Liquid have announced the addition of Michael "⁠Grim⁠" Wince to take over the place on the roster left open following Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella's departure.

Initial reports last week that pointed at Liquid and Grim being locked in talks for the 19-year-old to be added to the roster replacing nitr0 have now been confirmed, as the Los Angeles-based organization has officially announced the player's signing.

Grim had been turning heads with Triumph since the beginning of the year, amassing a 1.31 rating while putting up strong showings against the likes of MIBR, 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses at BLAST Premier Showdown and cs_summit 6, making him a prime candidate to make the jump to one of the region's top teams.

Grim will make his debut at DreamHack Open Summer

The change to Liquid's starting five comes after nitr0, the team's longest standing player, stepped down after a five-year tenure, making him the last player from Liquid's original CS:GO roster to depart the organization, leaving behind a storied career with the organization that includes becoming champions at multiple Big Events, winning the second season of Intel Grand Slam, and reaching the top of the world ranking.

Grim will make his debut with Liquid in the upcoming DreamHack Open Summer tournament, which kicks off on August 8. Liquid have been placed in Group A of the $90,000 event, meaning Grim will face his former Triumph teammates, who were also drawn into the same pool, as well as Chaos and Ze Pug Godz.

Grim was preforming against the good teams in NA, like EG, Furia and whatever the other teams are I don't follow NA scene... Xeppa or Leaf for example only destroyed washed up tier 3 teams so far so they haven't really proven anything.

I'm sure that when Grim will get some experience he can be one of the best players in the world. Great signing by Liquid. I think Liquid should now remove Twistzz, I know he has been pretty ok, but if Liquid wants to move forward I think they can't make it with Twistzz. As for replacement, I would like them to take vanity, he looked pretty good recently, and he can be a supportive style of AWPer, so I think it would not be hard for him to fill the gaps left by Twistzz, and he would fix the lack of AWPer in the team.
