mousesports expand roster to six players with Bymas

MOUZ have added Aurimas "⁠Bymas⁠" Pipiras as their sixth man on the roster and a developmental player.

Reports came out last week placing Bymas outside of FaZe as the European combine would be looking to add former North rifler Markus "⁠Kjaerbye⁠" Kjærbye to their ranks. MOUZ have now announced the addition of the Lithuanian youngster as their sixth player in the squad.

Bymas will continue to develop under mousesports as their sixth player

Bymas got his first big break with FaZe in late May, when Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer stepped down from the team. The 16-year-old played with the European squad until the break hit in July, ending up with a 0.93 rating as a member of the lineup that got third place at DreamHack Masters Spring and BLAST Premier Spring Europe Finals before taking a dive at cs_summit 6 with an 11th place finish.

After a strong end to 2019, MOUZ struggled when CS moved online due to the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year, with the exception of the first tournament of the online period, ESL Pro League Season 11, which they ended in second place.

Allan "⁠Rejin⁠" Petersen's men then went out in 13-14th and 13-16th place in ESL One: Road to Rio and DreamHack Masters Spring, respectively, before failing to qualify for the BLAST Premier Finals with a 5-6th place at BLAST Showdown, going on to end the season with another 13-16th place finish at cs_summit 6 Europe.

"We experienced how sudden circumstances can change this year," read a tweet from MOUZ under Bymas' announcement. "Thus we decided to broaden our roster and bring in a 6th player to be prepared. We are excited that we can present a huge talent as Bymas to fill that role, who fits into our philosphy of developing young players."

I certainly think that u can make decent amount of money with betting, but it requires INSANE amounts of knowledge of whats going on in the scene. best move for Faze, bymas is too young without experience, Kjaerbye talented major experienced player at level like jks and felps combinated, i wanted see Fallen as IGL but Kjaerbye is really good too.

Mousesports literally have two living examples on their team, that this sort of experiments can work out hugely. Also it has great benefits for the org, to sign a young upcoming player (smaller wages, no buyout, etc.).

Well, this online era due to pandemic really turns the scene in to a weird area with rosters with more than 5 players. It is good to have backup place in case of players are unavailable to various reasons but doesn't it really help with how teammates engage together in practice and on server? In the end, do players even have an identity anymore or they just become a pluggable piece of a puzzle? On Mouz's part, do they have someone else to pick instead of this Bymas dude? He doesn't look good to me. There are better players available. Maybe getting him cheap to save cost? I don't even know.

Depending on how long Mouz has been cooking this but ScreaM was available, LETN1 is available, Hobbit was available, AdreN is available, dennis was available, nukkye is available. Even ALEX is not a bad choice. Of course the best of all, Kjaerbye was available before FaZe scoped him up. Karrigan does have a snack to train new and young players but not sure how well that will do especially the team is so inconsistent already.

if astralis decided that a 12 man roster and using only scouts and umps everyone would copy it. i am curious to know how a 6 man roster practices, who is getting pushed out? how they structure there time. i tottally understand like a 5 man roster and a youth team and then u can practice against each other but a 6 man roster just another person getting in the way. an 8 man roster would probably work as u could do bombsite drills and many different X vs X situations. curious to see it all pans out for astralis and other teams having more than a 5 man roster
