GuardiaN, AdreN, Dosia headline OldG roster for IEM NY CIS qualifier
The second open qualifier will feature a mix team with well-known players, including two members of the Gambit Major-winning lineup and the benched NAVI AWPer.
Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács, Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev and Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov have put together a mix team for the second open qualifier for IEM New York's CIS division. The roster, which will play under the name "OldG", will vie for a place in the closed qualifier for the ESL competition - the third Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event in the CIS region.
GuardiaN has been on Natus Vincere's bench since the start of the year, when he was replaced by Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy in the CIS giants. Two months later, he was loaned out to Dignitas for Flashpoint 1, in which the Swedish team finished in 10th place.
The Slovakian AWPer, who made every top 20 player of the year ranking between 2013 and 2018, peaking at No.2 in 2015, will reunite with AdreN after the duo played together in FaZe between January and May 2019, during which the team won the ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational and BLAST Pro Series Miami. The Kazakh veteran went on to play for the AVANGAR team that finished in second place at the StarLadder Major and won BLAST Pro Series Moscow before signing for Virtus.pro.
The 30-year-old, who was last week moved to the bench, will compete alongside another former teammate in Dosia. The duo played together on several CIS teams in the past, including Astana Dragons, HellRaisers and the Gambit lineup that won PGL Major Krakow.
Rounding out the OldG roster for the open qualifier are Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas, who has been without a team since leaving HellRaisers in April, and Alexander "lamp" Noviy, formerly of Vega Squadron.
OldG will compete in the open qualifier, which will kick off this Wednesday at 16:00 , with the following lineup:
