Imperial confirm LUCAS1 signing

The PGL Major Krakow finalist will continue his career in Brazil after a seven-month break from action.

Imperial have announced that they have secured the services of former Immortals and MIBR member Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles on a permanent basis. The 25-year-old joins the team on a free transfer, returning to activity after a prolonged break.

LUCAS1 has been a free agent since December 2019, when he was replaced by Ignacio "meyern" Meyer on MIBR after just six months with the team. He played two matches as a stand-in for FURIA the following month and has been out of action ever since.

LUCAS1 is Imperial's new fifth member

LUCAS1 will be stepping into the shoes of Denis "dzt" Fischer, whose future is now unclear. The 23-year-old had rejoined Imperial in January after a first spell with the organisation between September 2018 and April 2019, after which he played for Inflames and Keyd. He helped Imperial to win the Aorus League #1 Finals in March before results took a turn for the worse, with the team failing to go beyond the semi-finals in each of their last five tournaments.

The high-profile addition of LUCAS1 brings a wealth of experience to the Brazilian team, who added two-time Major champion Lincoln "fnx" Lau in June. He spent the majority of the last five years competing in North America, enjoying great success with Immortals, whom he helped to the final of PGL Major Krakow in 2017.

In a video posted by Imperial, LUCAS1 said that he is looking forward to playing again and revealed that the team will bootcamp in Serbia ahead of the last Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament in South America.

LUCAS1 will make his first appearance for Imperial on Thursday against Havan Liberty in the semi-finals of CBCS The Conquest. With this change, the Brazilian team now have:

Brazil Caio "zqkS" Fonseca
Brazil Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves
Brazil Felipe "delboNi" Delboni
Brazil Lincoln "fnx" Lau
Brazil Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles

Brazil Alan "AlaNDieg0R" Riveros (coach)

doesnt change the fact that they are washed up now and wont achieve anything nowadays and wasting their time, just like HONORIS, and like dennis on Apeks, and like Dignitas
2020-08-16 02:21
I disagree with you bro. NEO still have the abilities to play in a t2 EU team. also xizt, GTR are decent. f0rest can still play in t1. fnx, lucas1 > vini

well, we can agree to disagree. but good luck to them either way i guess, even tho i think they are wasting their time its kinda cool that they still have motivation to keep trying
2020-08-16 02:36
why are they wasting there time making money playing the game they love
2020-08-16 02:37
More like the organization are wasting time and money on them if u think about tryimg to be competitive
2020-08-16 08:51
The organization choose the best player they could afford, so this was a great move for the organization and lucas1 that is coming back to cs
2020-08-16 10:06
I agree but i was speaking about the "washed up" teams as a whole, not about this move. Lucas is a super good player for SA leagues for sure but this team imperial has, seems pretty expensive for them considering they wont dominate even their own region...
2020-08-16 14:01
One player can make all the diference, you cannot say they won´t dominate if they haven´t played yet. Watch their future games and see how the team develops. A 2nd place major winner is always good for a team like imperial, experience. balance and firepower is what they will get.
2020-08-17 14:25
Ofc im not 100% they wont dominate but i suppose these are things some people see, some not. Pretty much the only way this team can be +ev for its org is from marketing.

2020-08-16 06:42
the only comment I saw being made about it was for the fallen, and he said there was a disagreement of thoughts within the game, he used for example things like, time to be passive and time to be aggressive, what I understood was that fallen meant that lucas1 was flustered
2020-08-16 17:41
Perfect roster would be Lucas1 Fallen Taco Boltz Fer

Dubious roster, wish he ends up in a better team someday
2020-08-16 13:13
I still don't understand why didn't they keep the immortals roster?
2020-08-16 13:31
because of a big scandal involving lucas1, hen1 and kng, kng threatened a player for "denigrating" his image and it got really bad, so immortals decided to expel kng, noah ex owner of imt (current mibr) swore that kng would never be part of any of his projects again, so the 2017 immortals team never managed to find a replacement until they disbanb in 2019 representing luminosity gaming. sorry my inglish is very bad
2020-08-16 17:47
oh yeah I forgot that happened when they were in imt I remembered it as it was in 100T
2020-08-17 01:05

2020-08-16 13:58
I think he had surgery. idk
2020-08-16 16:39
yes he did
2020-08-16 17:49
I don't think he is a good pickup. Honestly I think he is just to inconsistent. I would prefer them to stay with dzt, and remove fnx, and take a young talent like cass1n, I know he is a no name but he have potential to be the future star of BR CS.
2020-08-16 14:06
This lineup appears to have been made only in terms of the names of the players. you know... that they are all known in Brazil.
2020-08-16 16:44
But this team would be much better if they would take a player like cass1n, I know he is a no name, but I think this team needs a cheap star player who can be great in the future.
