AGO qualify for ESL Pro League Season 12
The Polish side won the league over five months following their qualification for the playoffs, which were meant to take place on LAN at the Global Challenge earlier this year but ended up postponed to August amid the pandemic.
On the way to the title, AGO lost their opening bout with Sprout in the upper bracket final and went on to beat the only other attendant, Galaxy Racer, to go up against the German-majority side in the grand final. There, despite an automatic map disadvantage Damian "Furlan" Kislowski's side swept Sprout with relative ease on the back of big performances from the team's young duo, Miłosz "mhL" Knasiak and Maciej "F1KU" Miklas.
In early June, the organizers revealed that the twelvth season of ESL Pro League would begin in September and shared that it would be hosted in a studio setting if the players were able to travel safely without larger restrictions by the time the league kicked off.
However, with travel still being complicated, especially between the United States and Europe, and just over two weeks to go, it's expected that the league will be held online once again and divided into five regions: Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania, and South America.
