mousesports bench woxic - Report
Özgür "woxic" Eker has been placed on mousesports' bench, according to a report from 1pv.fr.
The Turkish AWPer has reportedly been placed on the bench as a result of a poor attitude over the course of the past few months, during which mousesports' performance took a massive hit as the team dropped from fourth to fourteenth place in the ranking.
woxic's spot in the starting lineup is supposedly set to be filled by Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras, who was announced as the team's sixth "developmental" player at the beginning of the new season after his departure from a two-month trial stint with FaZe.
Meanwhile, AWPing duties will transfer to Chris "chrisJ" de Jong, which could come as a breath of fresh air to the Dutchman after his individual form deteriorated since the scene moved online, dropping to a 0.87 average rating after IEM Katowice.
This move will mark the first change to mousesports' active lineup in nearly a year and a half, since the European side underwent a core overhaul with the signing of Finn "karrigan" Andersen, David "frozen" Čerňanský, and woxic in early 2019. The squad went on to reach their peak No. 2 ranking in December, where they stayed for three months on the back of a dream run worth four titles and one runner-up finish at tournaments such as ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals and ICE Challenge.
However, they've hit a snag ever since they placed second at ESL Pro League Season 11, the first online event hosted after the pandemic struck, getting eliminated early in the last five tournaments barring the Gamers Without Borders charity event.
With woxic placed on the bench and Bymas in the active roster, mousesports will be:
Chris "chrisJ" de Jong
Robin "ropz" Kool
Finn "karrigan" Andersen
David "frozen" Čerňanský
Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras
Allan "Rejin" Petersen (coach)
Özgür "woxic" Eker (benched)
