smooya, Spinx to trial for c0ntact
The former Chaos and BIG member will take up secondary AWPing duties alongside Otto "ottoNd" Sihvo.
c0ntact are set to trial Owen "smooya" Butterfield and Lotan "Spinx" Giladi as replacements for Luka "emi" Vuković and Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov, in a move first reported by DBLTAP and later confirmed by a tweet from smooya.
The British player's arrival on the roster signals a return to active play, with the 21-year-old having become a free agent following his release from Chaos in March after he was unable to attain a P-1 visa due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Two months later, it was reported that smooya and Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer were set to join the Mongolian roster of TIGER, but the organisation backtracked on their plans after their current roster gained renewed faith from management following a victory over TYLOO to secure the ESL One: Road to Rio Asia title.

Spinx is a relatively unknown quantity at the professional level, last taking part in the second Nine to Five tournament with Tikitakan, where he averaged a 1.17 rating against the likes of Syman, Illuminar, and ALTERNATE aTTaX. He also currently leads the August leaderboard in FPL, becoming the latest talent to join a team partially based on his plaudits on the platform.
c0ntact have struggled to find results in recent months, exiting Flashpoint 1 in ninth place near the start of the year and more recently failing to qualify for cs_summit 6 Europe after being knocked out of the Regional Qualifier. Additional lacklustre placements in two Home Sweet Home Cups and the FunSpark ULTI Europe qualifier are results that the team will hope to improve on with the addition of two new players.
Going forward, c0ntact's roster should be:
Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas
Otto "ottoNd" Sihvo
Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer
Owen "smooya" Butterfield (trial)
Lotan "Spinx" Giladi (trial)
Neil "NeiL_M" Murphy (head coach)
Daniel "djL" Narancic (coach)
