ALEX reveals Cloud9 move*
The move hardly comes as any surprise after Cloud9 not only hinted at who their first player of the new lineup would be on Wednesday but also revealed an announcement date and time that coincided with ALEX's studio interview with 1pv.fr.
The 24-year-old joins the American organization one day after confirming his departure from Vitality. He has been out of action for the past six months, having decided to step down from the French side after the organization was unable to cut down on the team's busy travel schedule, becoming a partnered team in the BLAST Premier and ESL Pro Tour circuits.
By signing with Cloud9, ALEX will fulfill his wish of joining a Flashpoint member team and, as a result, likely have more control over his schedule than in Vitality, as the Los Angeles-based side is not partnered with either of the aforementioned tournament organizers, who take up a large portion of the calendar.
At the moment, the respected in-game leader is the only confirmed player of the new C9 project spearheaded by General Manager HenryG, who has made it clear that the new team is not complete yet and stated that his "door is still open."
So far, the only clue regarding ALEX's potential future teammates came from the player himself, who said "By the way, how many UK players is too many for one team?" in his statement announcing his exit from Vitality and went on to reveal in the 1pv.fr interview that his team will indeed feature another Brit.
Cloud9's new CS:GO division now has the following trio:
Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović (Coach)
Henry "HenryG" Greer (General Manager)
