DreamHack Open Fall invited teams announced
The organizers of the next European Regional Major Ranking tournament have revealed the list of invited teams to the main tournament and its closed qualifier.
The complete list includes every team who has earned points in the Regional Major Ranking so far, with the first eleven teams according to the standings invited to the main tournament, while the bottom nine will play in the closed qualifier.
The invites were decided after all 20 teams with points to their names provided the rosters they will use in DreamHack Open Fall, which will serve as the third RMR event of the current, prolonged Major cycle.
Most notably, Astralis have provided a lineup including Patrick "es3tag" Hansen, which means that Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth's break will likely last at least until the end of October when the RMR tournament comes to an end.
Vitality are currently sitting in a comfortable lead of the ranking with over an 800-point advantage over second-placed G2. As things stand, GODSENT round out the top three, with ENCE following closely behind just below the Legends cutoff after surprising campaigns in the cycle so far.
The third RMR event was originally meant to be the final qualifying tournament of the current Major cycle. However, the cycle will continue until it it is clear that the Major can take place, after ESL One: Rio was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The list of invited teams to DreamHack Open Fall, which will begin with the qualifying stage on September 18 before the main tournament kicks off on October 15, looks as follows:
