Yeah drop out of IEM New York North America; Swole Patrol, MIBR fates uncertain

The Brazilian organisation would be prevented from using its newest addition, Michael "Swisher" Schmid, due to the tournament's roster lock already being in place.

Yeah have announced that they will not be competing in the North American division of IEM New York after they were informed that they would not be able to field Swisher in the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament.

The team had the option to use their benched player, Victor "iDk" Torraca, or coach Gulherme "mza" Donini as a replacement for Swisher, but made the decision to focus on practicing with their current lineup instead as both potential stand-ins currently reside in Brazil.

dumau and company will not compete in IEM New York

Swole Patrol coach Ian "Immi" Harding revealed earlier on Tuesday that his team were suffering from a similar issue as they had qualified for the event with Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado on the roster. With the Mexican player having since departed for Chaos, Swole Patrol would be forced to field Immi as a fifth player instead of Maxim "wippie" Shepelev.

Additionally, MIBR's fate in the tournament remains uncertain as their roster currently consists of only two players, and their invite to compete in the event was determined by the points in the RMR standings, which have since been reset.

The team list for the North American tournament, which will run between October 6 and 18, is the following:

iem ny qualifiers were held in august so unless they buy the core from a rmr team i doubt we`ll see them
2020-09-15 23:37
Interesting. So teams must complete roster with players from teams who have participated in rmr. Didn't know about this rule.

You misunderstood him. The Roster Lock is active, so the new C9 roster won't be able to compete in the IEM New York, unless they'll have a three-man core from another team which helds the spot for that event.

2020-09-16 03:25
Furia is from Australia?
2020-09-16 05:18
No, unfortunately Australian CS players are too retarded to have any sort of international impact. One team does not a scene make, however.
2020-09-16 07:06
Australia and brazil scene are equal u have 100T and they have furia
2020-09-16 18:53
100T are T4 NA team, they probably wouldn’t even be the best team in Australia.

"The tigers were held from playing with their new addition and both IDk and coach MZA are in Brazil rn, which pretty much makes it unviable for us to play IEM New York". How tf is their coach in Brazil? And btw, I legit thought it was a rat, not a tiger...
