Yeah drop out of IEM New York North America; Swole Patrol, MIBR fates uncertain
The Brazilian organisation would be prevented from using its newest addition, Michael "Swisher" Schmid, due to the tournament's roster lock already being in place.
Yeah have announced that they will not be competing in the North American division of IEM New York after they were informed that they would not be able to field Swisher in the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament.
The team had the option to use their benched player, Victor "iDk" Torraca, or coach Gulherme "mza" Donini as a replacement for Swisher, but made the decision to focus on practicing with their current lineup instead as both potential stand-ins currently reside in Brazil.
Swole Patrol coach Ian "Immi" Harding revealed earlier on Tuesday that his team were suffering from a similar issue as they had qualified for the event with Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado on the roster. With the Mexican player having since departed for Chaos, Swole Patrol would be forced to field Immi as a fifth player instead of Maxim "wippie" Shepelev.
Additionally, MIBR's fate in the tournament remains uncertain as their roster currently consists of only two players, and their invite to compete in the event was determined by the points in the RMR standings, which have since been reset.
The team list for the North American tournament, which will run between October 6 and 18, is the following:
