#PlayForBelarus charity tournament announced

An online charity tournament has been set up on World Peace Day, September 21, as a gesture of solidarity with the people of Belarus, where protests have been ongoing since the August 9 presidential election.

Eight teams will fight for a $25,000 prize pool on September 21, while a fundraiser for the Belarusian House Foundation, an organization that supports activities for democracy and human rights as well as the development of civil society in Belarus, will run simultaneously.

The day will kick off at 13:00 with streams in at least eight different languages, featuring a single-elimination bracket with best-of-one quarter-finals and semi-finals that will culminate in a best-of-three grand final.

Nemiga will be competing in #PlayForBelarus

The event, launched by Polish gaming agency Fantasyexpo, will have three Polish squads in attendance, PACT, HONORIS and Illuminar, as well as the German-Polish side Sprout.

The highest ranked Belarusian squad, Nemiga, will also be in the fray, as well as three European teams, Endpoint, sAw and Budapest Five.

The eight invited teams are:

Well that's the hole point, you live in Russia and only one man make the rules, so you can have a opinion all you want, it doesn't matter matter one bit, or change the fact that Russia is defacto in charge in Belarus. They will get a new leader sure, but I'm the end it's up to Putin to pick him. Also, why can't cs pros be politically involved if they want to?
2020-09-17 17:56
Bruh... We, russian people, are not Putin. Just saying ;) So don't blame us for everything that's going on. We are not able to change anything here.

You also can't the game seriously if it gets like this, though. Either you can tell your parents that this is a real game making changes, a real affinity you can chase, or its a game that is far apart from the real-world in lala-land. I'd think they would rather have me playing the former.

People are getting picked up on the street by police, beaten and jailed for no reason at all. What Nemiga are risking? Returning to Belarus and end up in a jail cell for an unknown time period with no legal charges or access to a lawyer. Having their passports confiscated and being unable to participate in any tournaments outside Belarus. To mention a few things.

Unless you live in Belarus or regularly talk to someone from Belarus you should perhaps consider trusting the things journalists statiioned in Belarus tells you if you want to act like an expert on the situation there. Plenty of journalists have reported on random people being beaten up and arrested for doing nothing else than being out on the streets. Even miles away from the nearest protest minding their own business.

Protestors are getting beaten up by the regime/police. As with any sport „protests“, it is always the right wingers/authoritarians that are against this. It is the absolute right thing to do in times like these. Especially if you have a voice and can do something to even help a little, creating awareness etc

2020-09-18 07:19
no dictatorship in Europe! a great idea is to organize this tournament. #freebelarus
2020-09-18 08:21
All this shit started because Lukashenko didnt wanted to buy oil from Russia so putin started protests in belarus and now people will donate?
2020-09-18 11:46
not yet, we had fake elections like 5 times in a row and we do not have basic civil and political rights at all
2020-09-18 13:05
but if you think about it, its good for you cuz if you will have democracy all the agricultural companies and others will just disapear and people in "new" goverement will just suck out money for them selfs and it all happend in Latvia aswell after getting freedom from Russia So be happy what you have now cuz when Lukashenko goes away, Belarus goes fucking awfuly down
2020-09-18 13:41
and dont argue with that cuz we already made our statistics and predictions. it will just get worst
2020-09-18 13:42
Łukaszenko is watching You guys. Remember to respect him on twitch chat or he will drive a tank thru Your house. #democracy
2020-09-18 11:52
Seriously?? Why the need to mix up politics in sports??
2020-09-18 12:55
idk, maybe because it's more than politic it's ppl lives and freedom now
2020-09-18 13:11
Well yes... But there are people who are sick and tired of listening to Corona, to countries molesting their people and all other shitty ass news. 2020 is a shit year and alot of people want to "Get away" from the whole thing and spend their thoughts and minds on something else. This is entertainment and not some sort of political theatre, I became a big fan of eSports due to the fact that there wasn't any political nonsense, unlike football where politics has gotten a big influence and a lot of clubs needs to prove their political an moral correctness....
2020-09-18 16:17
So we have to be indifferent. The fact that people are being beat by the police is good. There is no politics here, there is help
