DreamHack Open Fall Closed Qualifier team list finalized
As the Open Qualifier for DreamHack Open Fall 2020 reached the round-of-eight stage, the teams that will go on to face the likes of Complexity, mousesports, and North for spots in the upcoming European Regional Major Ranking tournament have been determined.
Sprout, the highest-ranked team not to be invited, made it through after a hard-fought victory over ZEROZONE, with Endpoint, SKADE, and AVEZ confirming their status by securing spots in the closed qualifier. Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács's mix MBAPPEEK was unable to make it past Endpoint, who edged them out 2-1, but Nikola "Lobanjica" Mijomanović's HERCEGNOVI made it through, earning a 2-0 over Tricked.
The rest of the open qualifier will be played out using a BO1 format, in order to determine the seedings of the qualified teams, with the closed qualifier scheduled for September 22-25.
Five of the 16 closed qualifier teams will progress through the double elimination BO3 bracket to the main event, scheduled for the second half of October. A total of $115,000 in prize money, RMR points, and a spot at the IEM Global Challenge in December will be up for grabs in the event.
