DrobnY joins Hard Legion on two-month trial

The Russian team has picked up the 21-year-old AWPer to fill the gap left by the departure of Dmitry "⁠rAge⁠" Bolotov.

Hard Legion announced the addition of Anton "⁠Drobnyy⁠" Drobny to their team, completing their lineup after being down to four members since the middle of September following the departure former Windigo Academy player rAge.

Drobnyy, who played his last HLTV-featured match a year ago for Royalty and spent the majority of his career in MAJESTY, will be on trial for two months, with a full-time contract to be offered to him depending on his integration in the lineup.

The Russian team has been in a center of a lot of negative attention over the last two months, as their former coach Aleksandr "⁠zoneR⁠" Bogatiryev was one of the first three to be found using the coaching bug exploit. zoneR was let go from the team, but due to the bug abuse happening in ESL One: Road to Rio CIS where Hard Legion finished third, the team's Regional Major Ranking points were reset and they lost a spot in the upcoming ESL One New York - CIS.

On Monday, ESIC released their initial findings regarding the coaching bug abuse, extending their former coach's ban to the maximum of 36 months, but also penalizing the team's now-former assistant coach Erik "⁠AKIMOV⁠" Akimov (7.5 months ban), and current CS:GO manager Egor "fuRy^" Morin (7.5 months ban). Their newly signed coach Sergey "⁠starix⁠" Ischuk was also banned for an infraction dating back to 2017, but the Russian team decided to keep him on board and work with the Ukrainian outside of official matches in ESIC-sanctioned events.

Hard Legion will debut their new lineup featuring Drobnyy in the IEM Beijing - Europe Open Qualifier #1 on October 5:

A convicted cheater is a cheater no matter the circumstances. HUNDEN did not cheat during Cologne. His ban was due to incidents in DH Masters and Home Sweet Home Cup. The Cologne demos were reviewed and he was found to be innocent. starix stated he knew about it in 2016. His ban was given due to abuse in a NaVi game in 2017. He was aware of the bug's existence, it happened to him in-game, and he didn't report it rather visibly turned his camera to gain information. Whether he used this info is unknown but it warrants a ban as he gained information that wasn't supposed to be given to him. Against the rules. Moving the attention from starix to HUNDEN does not favor your argument. Yes, we can talk about HUNDEN as well, he cheated for more rounds in more games. His ban was very well deserved. That does not change the fact that starix's ban also was very well deserved as he cheated. He also openly accused another player of cheating, all the while being a cheater himself. The hypocrisy is through the roof. In #125 you said almost the exact same thing just in a different context: instead of responding to the argument at hand you shift the attention to another team, in this case NaVi. For the record, aside from the starix-incident, when did NaVi cheat?

Well, as u already said, this happened to him once a few years ago. He was openly talking about it and was almost shocked when he found out that he got banned :) Lmbt got banned for games he didnt even participate in. In different games. And the fact that everyone hates no one but starix just shows how everyone is obsessed with Russia/Ukraine and their region. An american got caught using steroids (doping) ? "Ah, shit happens mate." Russians got caught? "Lets ban them from any event for the rest of their lifes" :D Same here. All thanks to JW who started this drama because of starix words about flusha that werent even translated correct. He didnt even do 1/100 of what others did.

Yes, but also he can do the same against tier 1- 2 teams if old GuardiaN is back, and try help them qualify to major when it happens. But HardLegion don't have RMR points, that mean thay is out of major. And I don't remember what was with big events from ESL is they allowed or not. Second and most important is language. GuardiaN have problems with russian language in Na'Vi, and HardLegion definitely won't speak english with him. HardPlay(if i correctly remember is his name) don't understand english. Once see some video of him try speaking english or understand what someone is saying to him. That was very funny.
