MIBR weigh up adding stand-ins for BLAST Premier, Flashpoint - Report

The Brazilians are in a race against time to find three players before their next tournaments.

MIBR could resort to fielding stand-ins to complete their roster for BLAST Premier Fall Series and Flashpoint 2, as first reported by Globo Esporte and confirmed by HLTV.org. The Brazilian team are depleted to just two players after the organisation removed Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo and Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga from the active lineup, and Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo stepped down from the roster in disagreement with the changes.

Vito "⁠kNgV-⁠" Giuseppe and Alencar "⁠trk⁠" Rossato are the remaining players in MIBR's starting lineup, with the team scheduled to return to action at the end of October in BLAST Premier. Earlier this month, HLTV.org revealed that MIBR are one of the North America-based teams who are locked in talks with tournament organisers with a view to finishing out the season in Europe.

kNgV- is one of the two remaining members in MIBR

MIBR have already made enquiries about the possibility of securing temporary deals, but no progress has been made as organisations seem reluctant to part with their players during such a busy period of the year.

BLAST is yet to announce if it will revise the schedule of the Fall Series to accommodate the changes that it is planning to implement. Rather than splitting the teams into two regions, BLAST wants to gather them all in one tournament, as it did in the Spring Series, in which matches were played at a studio in London. Flashpoint 2 will take place between November 9 and December 6, with $1 million on offer and 12 teams in attendance.

They do want to play, just not as stand in and not with the core falling apart like that. At the time, kNg's positioning was suggesting that him too was about to quit. I'd also reconsider my position of joining not knowing how things would workout.. The way I see it, MIBR has 2 options that is to buy out a decent roster or to rebuild like C9, I don't think that hiring single players one by one will make good players have interest in this since money is not an issue for them and their name/carrer is more important than playing for a world wide org that is showing day by day to be more of a mess. This reminds me of pasha, dosia and others talking about the end of the legendary VP roster.. :(

i think it makes most sense for mibr to buy out BOOM. sucks for trk and kng because they certainly were not the problem but as you said, i dont really see them getting a good lineup when picking single players. still immensely stupid to even consider playing 2 events with 3 standins IMO. they wont go far either way and they even have to travel to Europe for these events. on a side note, in flashpoint there's like two teams right now that have a complete roster. FP2 seems to be even more laughable than FP1 so far 🤡

I think Boom wouldn't sell. They (org) seems pretty confident and ambitious, but yes, from MIBR's perspective that would be the best move indeed. They are charismatic and felps/boltz could make peaces between MIBR and it's fans, since felps alone is more loved than the org hehe... I agree with what you said about FP1/FP2.. which makes me wonder if a really good pug team couldn't win this FP2.. considering how things are running right now, it wouldn't be that much of a surprise kkkkk
