Official: Nivera joins Vitality
The 19-year-old player has been unveiled as a member of Vitality, seeing the French team expand their roster to six players.
The Belgian player wielded both the rifle and the AWP in his former team, where he played alongside Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey and Lucas "Lucky" Chastang, with Vitality announcing he will become a fully active member of the roster.
According to earlier reports, Nivera was a part of a four-player shortlist for Vitality, but ended up selected over Bryan "Maka" Canda, Nicolas "Keoz" Dgus, and Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss. With his addition to the squad , Dan "apEX" Madesclaire, Cédric "RpK" Guipouy, and Richard "shox" Papillon will once again team up with a Benriltom, having played alongside his older brother Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom earlier in CS:GO.
Nivera averaged a 1.12 rating in 2020 for Heretics and plays a different style of Counter-Strike compared to his older brother, with the move to Vitality a move towards the 19-year-old stepping out of ScreaM's shadow.
In their press release, the team announced that Nivera will be a "fully active member of the roster" and allow for "strategic rotation for competitions". With the rosters locked for DreamHack Open Fall 2020, the new player will debut for Vitality at BLAST Premier Fall Series at the end of October.
"We truly believe in the importance of nurturing young talent and Nivera was such a natural fit when we were exploring expansion," Team Vitality President and Co-Founder Fabien "Neo" Devide said. "Having a six-man roster will play an integral part as we commit to providing the best strategic environment for our players to perform at their best". Nivera added that he looks forward to "showcasing my unique playstyle and contributing personally to upcoming victories" for Vitality.
