Heroic eliminate NiP; to face Astralis in DreamHack Open Fall consolidation final

Heroic will rematch Astralis, a team they lost to in a disputed series in their DreamHack Open Fall opening match, in the consolidation final.

Heroic have collected their fourth scalp in the DreamHack Open Fall playoffs lower bracket, defeating NiP in the lower bracket final despite starting the series by losing their map pick, Vertigo. Down 0-1 the Danish team retaliated convincingly with a 16-3 scoreline on NiP’s map, Nuke, before securing the victory in the series decider, Overpass.

The Danes started their playoff run in the lower bracket after finishing third in Group B, taking out North, Sprout and BIG on their way to securing a spot in the consolidation final following their latest victory against Hampus "hampus" Poser and company. Heroic will now go on to play a local derby against Astralis, hoping to take revenge from their opening DreamHack Open Fall match where they lost 1-2 despite Casper "cadiaN" Møller's heroics. The fixture will take place at 20:00 after the fifth-place decider pitting fnatic and BIG.

stavn excelled in the series against NiP, earning a 1.55 rating

NiP took a 3-0 lead on the CT side of Vertigo before hampus extended it to 4-0 with an ace in the first gun round. The Danes then retaliated as Martin "stavn" Lund and cadiaN cleaned house, but the Swedes picked back up where they left off, making it 5-1, and although Heroic were able to string together three more rounds on the attack, NiP controlled the late rounds of the first half to close it out with an 11-4 lead. The Danish squad closed the gap early on in the CT side, taking the second pistol round of the map, but the two teams then traded rounds and NiP hit match point, 15-8, before closing out the opening map 16-8.

Heroic were first out of the gate on Train, winning the all-important CT-side pistol round, snowballing early on as NiP couldn’t find a way back into the half early on as the Danes shout out the attackers completely to a 7-0 lead. NiP were finally able to get on the board in the eighth round, but were immediately shut back down. The thrashing then continued until the end of the half, as Heroic took it 14-1. hampus got the best of Johannes "b0RUP" Borup in a 1vs1 in the second pistol round, but NiP didn’t take long to go down, 3-16.

Overpass started off with Heroic gaining the lead on the attacking side, going up 3-0, and although NiP won their first round with rifles, the Swedes weren’t able to follow it up, once again falling behind 1-5. After a pause, NiP brought it back to a tie and the two teams brawled the rest of the half, with the Ninjas coming out on top 8-7. The Danes secured the second pistol round and imposed their will on the defense early on, inching closer and closer to taking the map and series, going up 13-8 before NiP could retaliate. The Danes didn't let up, going on to secure the series 16-11 to set up a consolidation final match up against Astralis.

Heroic is looking pretty good, with small changes this team could be dominant on the scene imo. They are still going to lose to Astralis most likely. NiP is showing a little bit of life left in them, the core of REZ, Plopski and hampus can still make a good team together, but I think changes are needed.

That was just terrible from NiP... what happened since the last couple of days? REZ has been a monster but today he barely joined the server
2020-10-24 16:25
If Heroic bans Nuke and doenst pick Vertigo, they should win.
2020-10-24 16:27
Is Vitality the only thing that stands between Danemark and complete CS;GO scene domination? I believe Astralis will win this.

All is well in Daneland ... Danish CS reigns (currently) supreme ! Unfortunately, it won’t be a pure Danish Grand Final ... Too bad for Heroic, once again they’ll lose to The Kings, who Will annihilate Vitality in The rematch tomorrow ... 3 2 1 Malding Nerds be Raging ...
