NiP eliminate Evil Geniuses from BLAST Premier Fall Series

The North American team's run in BLAST Premier Fall Series has reached an early conclusion as NiP handed them a 2-0 defeat (16-8 Overpass, 19-15 Inferno).

NiP's victory over Evil Geniuses in two maps earns the Swedish side a rematch against Natus Vincere on Wednesday, while Evil Geniuses are out of the group stage, and will have to fight for a place in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals in the Showdown event.

The Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz-led team ended their first event since arriving on an European bootcamp with two defeats, losing to OG 2-1 before being eliminated by Hampus "hampus" Poser and co. Following the match, NiP's in-game leader spoke about facing Natus Vincere for a spot in the next phase of the tournament, stating that "if we just play like we can play, I think we'll have it".

REZ shined with 14 first kills and a 1.33 rating against EG

Evil Geniuses edged out the first two rounds on Overpass to start NiP's map pick with an advantage, but the Swedes struck back with five in a row to claim the lead - which they didn't drop for the rest of the game. The North American side found their footing after being 5-2 down thanks to Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte's multikills, but NiP's 3v5 turnaround on A proved crucial in denying Evil Geniuses's attempt to equalize the score.

The Ninjas had a 10-5 lead going into the second half, and despite losing the first three rounds on the defense, looked comfortable on their way to the victory, with their unbreakable site holds and a good team-wide performance earning them a 16-8 win.

Things were all tied at 2-2 early on into Inferno, but Evil Geniuses' map pick didn't end up working well for them on the Terrorist side. After NiP mustered a mixed-buy win in round 5, the Swedes went on a nine-round winning streak, finishing their CT side 11-4 up as Tim "nawwk" Jonasson recorded just two deaths.

NiP were looking to bring the map to a quick conclusion, but Ethan "Ethan" Arnold's triple with a Deagle earned Evil Geniuses a force-buy win and kicked off their comeback. NiP only managed sporadic rounds, putting their economy in a poor place, with stanislaw's 4K hold of A equalizing things at 14-14, leading Inferno into overtime.

In the added rounds, NiP finally cracked the code and found success attacking Tarik "tarik" Celik and Ethan on B, claiming the map after a flawless set of overtime to make it 19-15.

They should of done what Furia doing and stay there. EG wasting their time to play in a T2-T3 NA tournament so really like a T10 EU one.

I can assure you that we, brazilians, by the age of around 10, already know the 3 pieces that compose the Americas. "Mericans" that are famous for being totally close-minded to any other culture/geography that aren't directly related to them.

"could be .. for all we know" his point isnt about EG being insane, his point is about the fact that corona is making it hard for everyone to tell who is actually the best team in the world right now. I guess Duke1996's logic is to not understand English, make assumptions based on that misunderstanding and then try to laugh at an imagined statement. I wonder who looks like a fool in this situation.

Eg wasnt thar far off. 2 rounds and they would have won og A few rounds and theu would have forced a third on inferon against nip If you complain about eg being bad because they lost tight matches, shut the hell up. Shit happens. In every game there are 50/50 rounds that end up going the other teams way. This time eg just got unlucky. They are still a world class team

This was bound to happen. Although 2020 has almost entirely been online, there has been a tremendous rise in the competition level in EU CSGO. We saw the rise of Heroic, Vitality is better than ever and of course Astralis are back into top gear. Complexity looks promising too. NIP and OG are striving a lot. On the other hand NA CSGO level is basically the same it was before, maybe even a bit lower than that. As of now, Furia is the only NA region team capable of keeping toe to toe with the good EU teams. What happened with EG is most probably gonna happen with Liquid too.

I love to read all these EU fan boys comments. They did beat OG on inferno, and should have won on overpass. They should also have won inferno vs nip, and everything could happen in Nuke. But again, they didn't focus, and did many stupid mistakes so GG. I'm no EG fan, but they did beat several tier 1 EU teams like only 1 year ago.

Dictionaries allow to use "showed", which can't be said about shine now. Well, may be they will regard it as the correct form in the future, but for now it's only "shone".
