c0ntact, Sinners, Poland, 9INE advance to DreamHack Masters Winter closed qualifier

The quartet will join the likes of Gambit and Endpoint in the next qualifying stage ahead of the $150,000 tournament.

The aforementioned four teams made it to the top of the open qualifier, which was played over the course of the last two days and saw prominent teams such as AGO, K23, and Nexus miss out on securing a spot in the closed qualifier.

Among those who advanced was a new mixture playing under the name Poland, featuring some of the best available talent from the Slavic country, including Paweł "byali" Bieliński, Karol "rallen" Rodowicz, and Patryk "Sidney" Korab, as well as Paweł "innocent" Mocek and Miłosz "mhL" Knasiak, who are currently sitting on the bench in MAD Lions and AGO, respectively.

byali's mixture made it to the second qualifying stage

Meanwhile, c0ntact, who recently secured the services of Rigon "rigoN" Gashi, got their first taste of success in a while as they scraped through the open qualifier after beating teams like KPI and Entropiq.

The qualification to the closed part is a notable milestone for the Czech side Sinners as well as the Turkish squad 9INE, who are now the closest they have ever been to participation in an event of the magnitude of DreamHack Masters Winter after they failed to make it far in qualifiers for tournaments such as IEM Beijing-Haidan and Flashpoint 2.

The eight teams who will compete for two spots at the main event in the closed qualifier on Thursday, November 5, are:

Cool polish team, I hope mhl and innocent stay together and this forms some sort of polish core that goes on to be the next best team in Poland. Might need to swap a player or two but the lineup looks promising on paper.

Realistically Envy probably have a stupid high buyout on Michu but I'm really disappointed Sprout aren't kicking Spiidi for Innocent and going Polish (or mhl if he's available, I thought he was just taking a break but was going to return with AGO)

Yeah I get it but it's sad to limit yourself like that trying to stick to a certain country because Spiidi has hit his ceiling and you're limiting yourself keeping him on the team. I would support them swapping out Spiidi for an Alternate Attax player maybe but idk who would be the best choice I don't follow them enough.

omg are you serious? If u compare single player from both teams u can see that rallen, mhl & innocent > every player from contact. Of course contact would be favourit of this match cause they re TEAM. Poland is chill mix, they just play for fun and smash some teams.

GO ENDPOINT
2020-11-05 12:52
I read today, that Sprout are thinking of ditching the Polish duo and going back to a fully German lineup. Personally I rate both Dycha and Snatchie quite highly, and (as I'm Polish) would love to see them become the core of a good Polish team (I know, I know... "good" and "Polish" CS are not words often seen on this site ;) ). Let's pretend that a return to the glory days of PL CS is possible, who would you put in the team? From the available guys I'd go with: innocent Dycha Snatchie (primary AWP) mhL (rifle + secondary AWP) byali I'm not sure about who could be IGL (maybe innocent). However, if I were to make a dream Polish team, I'd go with: Furlan (IGL) Dycha (entry) hades (AWP) Snatchie (secondary AWP) Snax (lurk) What do you think?
