BIG move past forZe; advance to Flashpoint 2 playoffs

The German side is the first team to secure a playoff spot in the tournament but will be playing one more group stage match to determine their seed for the quarter-finals.

BIG lived up to the favorites tag in the match against forZe, sweeping the Russian side on Dust2, 16-7, and pulling off a big T-side comeback on Inferno, 16-14, to earn a 2-0 victory in the Flashpoint 2 Group B winners' match.

Finishing the game quickly will give BIG some extra time to prepare for their match against mousesports later today in IEM Beijing-Haidian, as the two German organizations are set to clash in their opening matches at 18:30 .

tiziaN was a consistent force on Inferno, helping BIG make the comeback

Nils "k1to" Gruhne picked up four frags in the pistol as BIG kicked off their map pick, Dust2, strongly. The Germans were up 9-1 shortly, running riot on the offense and causing forZe nightmares as they tried to lock down the approaches to the bombsites.

As the first half was coming to a close, Bogdan "xsepower" Chernikov picked up seven kills in a four-round run to offer his team a chance to come back (11-4), but the second half was equally one-sided, with a mixed buy conversion from BIG setting them for a 16-7 win.

Inferno was a different story altogether, as both teams were able to win force buys, ecos, and turn around disadvantages, making for a back-and-forth first half. forZe ended it with the smallest of leads, 8-7, after a pistol-armor Apartments explosion caught the German side off guard in the final round of the half.

BIG picked up the second pistol with an A push, but forZe won the following force buy, giving them the upper hand as CTs. Almaz "almazer" Asadullin and Andrey "Jerry" Mekhryakov topped the boards as they reached 14-9, but a successful Ruins wrap got Tizian "tiziaN" Feldbusch and co. back into it. k1to's double in a 3v5 in the 27th round was key for BIG's comeback, which they completed with a seven-round winning streak to steal away Inferno 16-14.

BIG is somehow still showing a little bit of life left in them, I'm really surprised that they delt with forZe that easy. I think the core of tabseN, syrsoN and XANTARES can still build a Major contender roster. forZe is showing a little bit of life left in them aswell, with small changes I think they still could be really good.
