GODSENT bench kRYSTAL
The organization has confirmed the benching of the German in-game leader amid reports of changes within the team.
The possibility of the in-game leader's departure from GODSENT's active roster was first reported by HLTV.org earlier this month. At the time, the team was looking into options to replace Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend and already began testing former c0ntact player Luka "emi" Vuković in his place.
kRYSTAL was the last remaining founding member of the team that was formed at the end of 2018 under the NoChance tag, who started gaining international recognition after a few changes and signed with SMASH in September 2019, before they got transferred to GODSENT two months later.
Under the German's leadership, the team became a stable top-20 side in 2020, especially thanks to some impressive results in the first half of the year, which saw them place highly in the first two European Regional Major Ranking events, ESL One: Road to Rio and cs_summit 6.
kRYSTAL now departs GODSENT's active roster at a time when their results have taken a hit, as they were unable to qualify for Flashpoint 2 and placed 11th at the latest RMR tournament, DreamHack Open Fall.
The move also comes just a few weeks after it was reported that the Swedish organization was in advanced talks with FunPlus Phoenix regarding the transfer of the European roster to the Flashpoint-partnered side.
