New England Whalers add FaNg for DreamHack Masters Winter

The 18-year-old will fill the shoes of Brendan "Bwills" Williams for New England Whalers' final event before the release of their roster.

New England Whalers have enlisted the help of Justin "FaNg" Coakley for their DreamHack Masters Winter North America campaign, the organisation's final tournament with their roster before they enter free agency on December 6.

The 18-year-old Canadian arrives as a replacement for Bwills, who departed the Whalers roster after the end of IEM Beijing-Haidian to join Triumph in place of Kaleb "moose" Jayne, who retired from CS:GO to pursue a career in VALORANT.

ben1337's band have added FaNg for their last ride with the Whalers

FaNg has been touted as a name to keep an eye on in North America, being mentioned by Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman in recent weeks as a player who had the potential to step up to a better team if needed.

In the last three months while competing with Rugratz in ESEA MDL Season 35 and IEM Beijing-Haidian, FaNg has averaged a 1.15 rating, fragging power that New England Whalers will sorely be in need of as Bwills was their second-highest rated player after Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue.

With FaNg's addition, New England Whalers will compete in DreamHack Masters Winter with:

Canada Jonathan "djay" Dallal
United States Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue
United States Ramal "Rampage" Silva
United States Ben "ben1337" Smith
Canada Justin "FaNg" Coakley

United States Joseph "Muenster" Lima (coach)

Lol @ not picking up daps.
2020-11-24 03:49
Why bother with daps? They are pulling stumps from csgo after this event anyway. Me personally I’d just get whoever was easiest so I can uphold my last obligation

Fang is actually an insane player, and super young. This is a critical time for NA CS. If we choose to invest in and support our younger/T2 players the scene will flourish in years to come. EG and TL can't carry the scene forever.

He is a really good player, I think it would be good addition if this team wanted to keep playing together.

I cracked the code guys. 1) Valorant is the CSSource of our time. The only nations that play it are US, UK, Czechoslovakia, France, bit of sweden 2) If valorant fails to deliver (and I believe it will, because no game can go on to live as a tier2 replacement of an established esport): what will the pros do? For now, there is a gold rush and all the NA orgs are pumping money in it but: a) valorant as an esport is not even close to being profitable (especially with the wages NA orgs pay rn) b) even if it reaches the esport status it is craving, there are too many orgs in NA and they can't all be satisfied. 30 big name orgs for a game that will actually be affordable for 5-10 of them 3) EU valorant will also dominate NA valorant, the teams, much like in CS, look like real teams. In NA the scene is primarily CS boomers (people over 30) and nonamer shitters from overwatch with DMG aim (lmao). And when all the money is concentrated in Europe AGAIN, what will the NA valorant scene do? Migrate to another replacement game?

I think I also cracked the code: Int characterLimit = 100; Int hltvComment = getComment(); String hltvUser = "hekzy"; String readStatus; String reason; If(hltvUser.post(hltvComment).getSize() > characterLimit){ readStatus = "DR"; reason = "TL"; System.out.println(reason + ":" + readStatus); } TLDR: TLDR

I'm really hoping these newer guys who have and will keep being added to N/A tier 2 teams step up in big ways. Would be nice to see a nice influx of talent that can figure out how to be play on the professional level.
