MIBR defeat OG; advance to Flashpoint 2 upper-bracket semi-final
A 2-1 win for the Brazilian side sets them up for a match against fnatic in the next stage of the $1,000,000 tournament.
The team led by Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe secured the biggest scalp of their European campaign yet, defeating OG, ranked #6 in the world, 2-1 in the upper-bracket quarter-finals of the Flashpoint 2 playoffs.
The initial map, Nuke, was all about the AWPer and IGL of the Brazilian team, kNgV-, who stood head and shoulders above the rest of the players in the server for a 16-10 victory, while OG didn't look fazed on Inferno, taking their map pick with ease. However, everything fell apart for the Europan mixture on Dust2, where MIBR started with 11 rounds in a row and closed out the game for a 16-3 win.

The force-buy battle that took place early on Nuke was won by MIBR after five rounds were traded back and forth, as kNgV- and Vinicius "vsm" Moreira secured triples with the AK-47 in consecutive rounds. That ensured a 7-2 lead for MIBR before OG managed their first full buy, which worked out for them, with four in a row going their way.
MIBR still stayed ahead as the sides switched, with Alencar "trk" Rossato's 1v2 pistol clutch pushing them into double digits (10-6) and closer to victory. Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt kept his team alive at map point with a quad kill, but the Brazilians closed it out 16-10 as kNgV- reached 33 frags.
A 4-0 lead for MIBR opened up Inferno, however, OG were quick to show why they picked the map. Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså was leading the charge for his team as OG gave no room to breathe to the Brazilian side. kNgV-'s quad kill amounted to the only round going they managed to win as Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's men were nearly flawless, taking their map pick 16-6.
Dust2 was a different story altogether, as MIBR ran up a 4-0 lead on T side as Leonardo "leo_drk" Oliveira clutched a 1v2 on B, with their unstoppable momentum pushing it to 10-0 thanks to a 2v4 turnaround. vsm's 1v3 on A edged MIBR even further to the win before OG finally got on the board to make it two for the half. OG's pistol round win that followed didn't add up to much, though, as they weren't able to convert against the force buy, leading to a 16-3 loss.
