Elisa Nordic Championship 2021 with $100,000 announced
The championship will consist of regional leagues in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway, and culminate with the Elisa Invitational.
The organizers of Elisa Invitational have announced an expansion of their tournament series called the Elisa Nordic Championship, which will take place from January-April and have $100,000 on offer in total.
Four national 16-team leagues, each featuring a $12,500 prizepool, will be held at the beginning in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway. The winners of each league will qualify for the $50,000 Elisa Invitational, where they will join four directly invited teams.
Three open qualifiers in each nation, all played on January 1-3, will determine 12 of the 16 participants, while the remaining four competing teams in every league will be decided via invites.
So far, the organizers have only released details on the Finnish league, which will kick off on January 8 with a GSL group stage. A single-elimination playoff bracket will follow with the top two teams from each group, starting on March 4.
