jkaem set to leave Apeks
The Norwegian is in talks with another team, according to his agent.
Apeks have announced that Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad has left the team with immediate effect after he was bought out of his contract. His agent, Asger Kvalvik, later clarified that the 26-year-old remains under contract with the Norwegian organization but confirmed that talks are underway with another club.
Apart from Apeks calling it "an offer [jkaem] felt he couldn't refuse," neither side revealed further details about the potential switch. If it comes to completion, the move will see the former 100 Thieves player change teams again just two months after he was transferred from the American organization to Apeks in a three-year deal.
In the announcement video, Apeks' leadership admitted that the loss of jkaem throws a wrench in their plans to build a "top Norwegian roster" and shared that the organization needs to shift its approach and look for talent in other Scandinavian countries.
"A lot of money has been spent on getting Joakim home, with a common understanding that time would be spent on building a Norwegian top roster, but these thoughts seem to have evaporated," a statement from the organization reads. "We are changing our plans but not the goal, it will just take a little longer."
In the event of jkaem leaving the team, the Norwegian side will find themselves down to just three players after they also benched Martin "Nasty" Garvik earlier this month, with their lineup looking as follows:
Ole "Marcelious" Kristian Langan
Sander "Grusarn" Iversen
Dennis "dennis" Edman
Pål "Polly" Kammen (coach)
Kristian "akez" Kornbakk (benched)
Erik "truth" Hansen Dyrnes (benched)
Martin "Nasty" Garvik (benched)
