Copenhagen Flames sign maNkz, Nodios
The new players rejoin the team after a short stint with x6tence.
Copenhagen Flames have signed Marcus "maNkz" Kjeldsen and Magnus "Nodios" Olsen from x6tence, the Danish organisation announced on Sunday. The pair will replace Sebastian "Basso" Aagaard and Jakob "Daffu" Schildt, who were moved to the bench earlier on Sunday.
Nodios and maNkz both played for Copenhagen Flames in 2020 before being bought out by x6tence in June and October, respectively. Their return comes just days after DBLTAP reported that x6tence will release the team at the end of the month and take a step back from competitive Counter-Strike.
"When we announced AcilioN's return from MAD Lions, we also announced a change in strategy in the Counter-Strike department," Copenhagen Flames' co-owner Daniel Vorborg stated in a video. "We will be trying to hold on to our best players for longer, and we will be investing more in the team to ensure our participation at a higher level.
"Nodios is one of the players who have been the longest in Flames. I know he is a player with strong opinions about how the game should be played, and he's skilled at taking initiative, both inside and outside of the server. maNkz was of course the IGL on x6tence and the last time he was in Flames, so he's obviously also a player to come on with initiative and leadership, who can help make the crucial calls when we need them."
