Sharks bench leo_drk
The Brazilian rifler has confirmed that he wants to continue playing alongside his ex-MIBR teammates.
Sharks have moved Leonardo "leo_drk" Oliveira to the bench, the Portuguese organisation announced on Monday. In a Twitlonger post, the 21-year-old confirmed that he is part of the new project that has been put together by Raphael "cogu" Camargo, featuring the five players who competed for MIBR at the end of 2020 plus Henrique "HEN1" Teles.
Following a breakdown in negotiations with MIBR, the players are now looking for an organisation willing to buy them out of their contracts, with Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles being the only free agent.
leo_drk is one of the two longest-standing members of Sharks' team, having been recruited in July 2017, when the organisation entered Counter-Strike. He has attended several international tournaments with the team, including one Minor and three ESL Pro League Finals.
"Over these years, I had the opportunity to play countless international tournaments against the best teams in the world," he said. "I had unforgettable experiences. It wasn't easy. I lived by myself, I faced many challenges and difficulties, away from the people that I love...
"But today I look back and see that all that I have been through has made me who I am, as a person and as a player."
leo_drk's benching leaves Sharks' active lineup down to just three players and a coach. On Friday, Fillipe "pancc" Martins was suspended from the team for up to six months after being accused of sexual harassment by a teenage girl on social media. Their roster looks as follows:
Raphael "exit" Lacerda
Jhonatan "jnt" Silva
Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves
Luca "Luken" Nadotti (benched)
Leonardo "leo_drk" Oliveira (benched)
Fillipe "pancc" Martins (suspended)
Hélder "coachi" Sancho (coach)
