LDLC revamp roster with Maka and Keoz

The incoming duo will take the places of Alexandre "⁠bodyy⁠" Pianaro and Aurélien "⁠afro⁠" Drapier, whose contracts weren't renewed at the end of 2020.

LDLC have brought on two new players, Bryan "⁠Maka⁠" Canda and Nicolas "⁠Keoz⁠" Dgus, to round out a roster that had been depleted to three when bodyy and afro didn't renew their contracts going into 2021, becoming free agents.

The incoming duo signed with LDLC as free agents, the French AWPer having last played for Heretics before stepping down late last year, not long before his contract expired, while the Belgian player joins Steeve "⁠Ozstrik3r⁠" Flavigni's men after spending the larger part of two years in the CIS scene with K23.

Maka showed great promise with Heretics in 2020

The changes come after middling results for LDLC in 2020 as they weren't able to break out and had mostly discrete showings in online cups with their best results being two second-place finishes at Eden Arena Malta Vibes Cup 4 and ASUS ROG Winter 2020. They did however manage to have a successful run in the ESEA Climber's Cup and MDL Relegations to qualify for the upcoming ESEA Premier season.

Maka joins LDLC after breaking out in 2020 as one of the engines of the Heretics team that took a sixth place finish at ESL One: Road to Rio Europe, where he ended up with a 1.20 rating across 20 maps against top competition.

Keoz hasn't yet become a household name in the French scene after spending most of time in the CIS region, although he did already stand in for LDLC in 2019.

The 20-year-old has shown plenty of potential with K23, including with a New Challenger stage appearance at the Berlin Major and in his former team's victory run at the European Development Championship late last year, which he ended with a 1.21 rating.

LDLC are now slated to play other European champions in ESL's European Championship Winter, which starts on January 18, for a spot at the IEM Katowice Play-in, and will be competing in the upcoming ESEA Premier league that starts later this month.

Sure, these are the best people they can get in france atm, Jackz, bodyy and kio are super experienced, Maka and Lucky are also decently experienced, I think Keoz looks to be good, not great atm tho, would like them building a second roster looking as follows. hAdji Star/Rifler Afroo Star/Rifler Sixer AWPER/Support Keoz Hybrid/Entry/Rifler Lambert Hybrid/IGL Could be a decent MDL Team, hAdji is quite experienced and is a great rifler, while Afroo and Keoz look promising for the future with some good showings in the past, theyre both still young, maybe Lambert and Sixer can give them experience and a platfrom to perform at.

#59 Again loose interpretations based around performance of teams. NaVi hasn't done shit this year outside of CIS RMR events. Their only event that was really noteworthy was Kato. Outside of that what have they done? 2nd at gg.bet? Won WePlay? Won the other RMR CIS event I dont even remember. NaVi really underwhelming this year

shouldve kept bodyy, and brought in someone like ex6tenz as a coach, MAKA can be a capable IGL, then theyĺl have a solid T2 roster to slowly build off of. The French scene has really nobody outside of whoever heretics still has on contract, vitality, and g2 even counting g2s benched. they have to slowly build up and go from there, and avoid just shuffling the same players like how the french scene kept doing.

Yo le noob, They let go of bodyy because his opinion on how the game should be played and his style of entrying (always aggressive risky plays that either win or lose you the round immediately) didn’t match the vision of the team. Better keep an arguably worse rifler (Sixer rifles decently) than ruin the style of the team.
