FURIA announce junior signing
The 20-year-old AWPer joins the team as a replacement for Henrique "HEN1" Teles.
FURIA have announced the addition of former Triumph AWPer Paytyn "junior" Johnson, formally confirming the move that had reportedly been in the works since November and allegedly cost the Brazilian organization a transfer fee worth around $55,000.
The 20-year-old American completes the Brazilian lineup following the benching of HEN1, who decided to join up with his twin brother Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles in a new project under Raphael "cogu" Camargo, also featuring the remainder of the former MIBR quintet.

"Ever since FURIA moved to NA, they've been my favorite team on and off the server. I've looked up to their lineup, raw skill, and supportive fans for a long time now." junior said in a Tweet. "I couldn't be happier to join them and make the Brazilian community proud!"
junior joins FURIA after putting up impressive numbers in Triumph, averaging a 1.13 rating in 2020 as he helped the American side win the 33rd season of ESEA MDL and finish runners-up to Chaos at IEM Beijing-Haidian North America, one of the last tournaments of the year.
FURIA's roster now features five players again just days ahead of their campaign in the $1 million BLAST Premier Global Final, which kicks off on January 19, with Andrei "arT" Piovezan & co. set to face G2 in the opening round of the upper bracket.
The AWPer's addition makes FURIA's lineup the following:
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
Yuri "yuurih" Santos
Andrei "arT" Piovezan
Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo
Paytyn "junior" Johnson
Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira (coach)
Henrique "HEN1" Teles (benched)
