Twistzz in talks with FaZe - Report
The Canadian star is still looking for a new home after ending his association with Liquid.
FaZe have set their sights on Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, according to a report from DBLTAP. The 21-year-old stepped down from Liquid's active lineup after the IEM Global Challenge in December and saw the organisation replace him with Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo earlier this month.
FaZe are reportedly looking to rebuild their lineup after selling their former star and captain Nikola "NiKo" Kovač to G2 in late 2020. Marcelo "coldzera" David recently revealed on the 'Flow Podcast' that the team are looking for at least a captain and that Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer wants to retire.
The new skipper could be Finn "karrigan" Andersen, who is not inclined to renew his contract with mousesports and has been linked with a return to FaZe, having led the international team between 2016 and 2018.
Twistzz has been with Liquid for over three-and-a-half years and is the organization's second-longest standing member after Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski. The Canadian helped the team to win multiple international titles, the majority of which in 2019, when Liquid also collected the $1 million prize from Intel Grand Slam Season 2. In 2020, however, the North American team struggled for form, winning just one international title, ESL Pro League Season 11 North America.
According to the report, it's unclear if FaZe will be able to thrash out a deal in time for the team's next event, cs_summit 7, which will be held from January 25-31.
