autimatic leaves Counter-Strike
Timothy "autimatic" Ta has announced his departure from CS:GO to join forces with VALORANT team T1, also featuring former iBUYPOWER quartet Braxton "swag" Pierce, Keven "AZK" Lariviere, Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham, and Sam "DaZeD" Marine.
The move comes in the aftermath of the disbandment of Gen.G, whose roster first lost Sam "s0m" Oh and Damian "daps" Steele in September before its remaining members, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand, and autimatic, got placed on the transfer list by the organization at the end of the year.
Not long after that, autimatic was linked with the creation of a brand new team alongside flusha and suNny, before the Swede revealed that the plan fell through as a result of a lack of interest from established esports organizations.
His departure from Gen.G leaves the American-Korean organization's CS:GO division with zero members, after koosta was transitioned to its VALORANT division and BnTeT signed with EXTREMUM, while Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbit became the coach of Cloud9.
The 24-year-old leaves a seven-year career in CS:GO behind, during which he represented several highly-regarded organizations such as Complexity, TSM, and Cloud9. His longest and the most successful stint was under the C9 banner, whom he played for in 2016-2019 and with whom he most notably won the ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals in 2016, where he also claimed an MVP medal, and the ELEAGUE Major in 2018.
At the time he was among the most accomplished players in North America, and he went on to place 17th in the Top 20 players of 2018 ranking as one of only seven players from his region to make the list until then.
