Complexity beat Vitality in poizon's return at BLAST Premier Spring

The European side put up two massive CT side performances on Mirage and Overpass to secure the opening win in their group.

Complexity have won the opening match of Group B in BLAST Premier Spring, defeating Vitality 2-0 after coming back from a 1-8 deficit on Mirage and dominating the Frenchmen 16-2 on Overpass. The latter map saw Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut record his worst performance on record, a 0.28 rating, as his team also suffered their toughest-ever loss on the map.

The European side had Valentin "poizon" Vasilev back in action for the first time since early December, when he was ruled out of IEM Global Challenge after undergoing emergency surgery. Although at first the Bulgarian looked out of shape with a tough start on Mirage in the match against Vitality, as the series progressed the AWPer found his impact with a huge highlight on Mirage and a carry performance on Overpass.

Meanwhile, Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke played a massive role in Complexity's opening win on their pick, Mirage, where at first the European side looked doomed after a tough start to their offensive half but then turned things around on the back of the Dane's massive plays.

k0nfig carried Complexity in the Mirage comeback with a 30-bomb

Vitality cruised through the opening stretches of the first half with an 8-1 lead and went on to clinch two more rounds for a 10-5 defense, but when sides switched, Complexity came alive. A pistol round going the way of the European side busted the map wide open and several big multikills from k0nfig, as well as a lightning-fast AWP quad-kill from poizon, saw Complexity put together a near-perfect CT side as they went 11-1 in the second half to secure the opener.

Benjamin "blameF" Bremer & co. seemed to carry over the momentum to Overpass, where the in-game leader started things off with a USP-S quad-kill on long and Complexity went on to dominate the half. With the Dane and poizon consistently finding openings and multikills on both sides of the map, the team went on another 11-1 streak while Vitality had no one to step up to the plate as ZywOo went missing. The Frenchmen could not salvage the dire situation, with just one more round going their way before they conceded the series at 16-2, 2-0.

Zywoo isnt a better player than s1mple but vitality is indeed better and more consistent than navi. It shows in number of finals they make which made it possible for zywoo to earn those mvps. Both player had same stats in 2020. Only difference maker was mvps which was due to team achievements. So conclusion, S1mple = zywoo Vitality >> navi And I am not a fanboy. These are just facts. Yeah i would agree in 2019 zywoo was better than s1mple since he had to main rifle coz of guardian for few months.

Nope, ZywOo is better both mechanically and in terms of gamesense. Less flashy, less flicks, but that does not determine how good you are at this level.. it's only entertainment.

He’s literally spending hours every day watching demos, looking into set-ups, tactics, details etc, then he spends a lot of time out of this preparing his team mates for the opponents. Watch the episode from HLTV.org since a couple of months ago. There’s no one as hard working as him in this scene

complexity have a good team, but they were playing with a lot of stand in players, at the same time jks joined the team so they didnt have proper time to get better as a team. finally poizon returned and they are hard bootcamping, this tournament is really important for complexity. They lost too many tournaments is a row, so this like all or nothing for them right now. Also since they have been playing bad and with differents players, it might had been hard for vitality to prepare for them
2021-02-08 21:05

In fact, this is the real value of Vitality when a team is able to counter Zywoo. They became what they really are: Trashality! Zywoo it's not a player. It's an entire team! I just hope they pay him big money... In fact, I even think every Vitality bot should donate half salary just for having Zywoo playing with them and make trash glow like gold...
