MSL becomes free agent
The in-game leader and North agreed to part ways after he spent the last two months on the bench.
Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen has been released from his contract with North, the 26-year-old has announced on Twitter. The Dane also revealed that he is looking to either join a stable team or create a brand new lineup.
The in-game leader had been sitting on the Danish organization's bench since he and Philip "aizy" Aistrup were replaced by Kristoffer "Kristou" Aamand and Rasmus "kreaz" Johansson in late November as North changed its direction towards a talent development project.
Two and a half months later, the Copenhagen-based side announced that it has ceased operations after being unable to bring new investors on board amid the coronavirus pandemic, which caused Parken Sport & Entertainment and Nordisk Film to terminate the organization.
MSL joined North in early 2020 for a second, in large part unsuccessful stint. The team's best results in the following year were a top-four finish at DreamHack Open Anaheim and top-eight placings at the first two Regional Major Ranking events, ESL One: Road to Rio and cs_summit 6, while they underwent several more lineup changes.
