NAVI add Dem0N to academy roster

The 13-year-old Ukrainian was recruited after impressing on FACEIT.

Natus Vincere have picked up 13-year-old Dmytro "⁠Dem0N⁠" Myroshnychenko to play in their academy, the organisation announced on Thursday. The Ukrainian youngster was offered a spot after being noticed on the FACEIT platform, where he has an average K/D of 1.31 and a 53% win rate over almost 2000 matches.

"A 13-year-old talented boy is exactly the case where we need to look strategically far into the future," NAVI COO Alexey "⁠xaoc⁠" Kucherov said. "We are happy to support Dima (Dem0N) in his professional career, and we will do our best to ensure that by the age of 16 he will be able to terrify the best teams in the world."

The announcement comes just days after NAVI announced an overhaul of their academy project, with Kirill "⁠Gospadarov⁠" Gospadarov, Ivan "⁠kapacho⁠" Koplenko, and Alexey "⁠Topa⁠" Topchienko having all been removed from NAVI Junior and made available for transfer.

NAVI currently have eight players in their academy set-up and will soon announce which of them will represent NAVI Junior. The organisation will also launch a dedicated website for future applicants in the near future as it hopes to recruit young talents "all year round", according to xaoc.

You really should research before talking out of your ass. S1mple, Electronic and perfecto, boombl4 all had +200k in buyouts and Navi has been unable to buy a lot of players in recent years due to orgs asking fortunes (FL1T, Mir, Sdy, Qikert) Perfecto was their like 3rd choice for a fifth and he was still 200K (for an OK guy in Syman). That's why having an academy makes sence both financially and competitive wise

200k was the bar I used as it was the lower value seen in NaVi. Also 200k might not seem a lot but add other 4 guys plus a coach and you start to realize that 200k is not 200k It's 200k plus an increased salary over their previous team, better equipment and prob some other benefits A 200k cheap player will cost you around 100k/Y (not even including boot camps, travel etc) So keep that in mind next time (also I'm sure investors will love you spending 200k when sponsors are cutting marketing budgets)

When I was 13, I never really thought of gaming. I remember being late at night doing shit. Since I started playing (I was nearly 15 at this time), I got shit at school, so I needed to give up playing Video games. The difference between making sports and playing Video games is that it goes on your brain, it destroys your mentality. Bright lights destroy sleep. No sleep means poor concentration. Poor focus means poor performance in general. I know I'm maybe 16 but this is what I experienced.
