Heroic sign sjuush, refrezh

The MAD Lions duo join the team in place of Johannes "⁠b0RUP⁠" Borup and Nikolaj "⁠niko⁠" Kristensen.

Heroic have announced their two new signings, Rasmus "⁠sjuush⁠" Beck and Ismail "⁠refrezh⁠" Ali, who will slot into the team to complete their lineup following the benchings of b0RUP and niko earlier on Friday.

"We have had a successful run with the last roster but we feel that we can come even further with these changes to the team", team captain Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller said about the adjustment to the lineup, which had the same five since April 2020. "I'm very excited to see this happen, and I'm confident both new players will work great in Heroic."

sjuush has linked up with cadiaN and co.

cadiaN also praised the new Heroic's capability to make this change happen so quickly, referring to the organization being acquired by Omaken Sports earlier in February. "We're already seeing how agile and fast-moving the organization can be. Not being afraid to make the changes needed for the team is an incredibly strong value to possess."

According to the announcement, sjuush will take on the support role for the team. The 22-year-old says that he "can't wait to start working hard with the boys and prove that this team will be one to remember", while refrezh adds that since getting the offer to join Heroic he has barely slept: "I'm so excited to be working with such talented and smart players, they're really something special."

With the additions of sjuush and refrezh, Heroic have bolstered their firepower, with the new roster set to debut in ESL Pro League Season 13, which kicks off on March 8.

On the other hand, the departures of two key members leave MAD Lions with just three players. The latest roster change happened before Thomas "⁠TMB⁠" Bundsbæk managed to debut for the team after signing from AGF at the end of January. The organization also cut ties with their coach Luis "⁠peacemaker⁠" Tadeu recently, who admitted that the departure "came as a surprise to many, including myself".

I agree with you on some points. I am a big fan of b0rup but lately, he is underperformance but Niko do some huge mistakes. I think Refresh and Sjuush are more fresh and more consistency.

A classic HLTV user and only looks at stats and decides if someone is good, rather than watching the games and noticing niko is playing all the awful positions and still putting up relatively OK numbers for these roles, b0rup ok poor form recently but niko imo is somewhat of a irreplaceable player with the roles he plays

Refrezh is really underrated. He was the star player alongside AcoR in ML and Sjuush is arguably the best Dansh support not called Xyp9x.

Nah refrezh has been FRAGGING. Consistently dropping well into the 20s, sometimes even more. He's not necessarily a star, but he's the player who'll reliably get a kill almost every round, if not 2

sjuush has been good, but refrezh seems pretty weak. Overall I think they are completely not what Heroic needs, and I think that Heroic is gonna regret these changes really quickly. I wish them GL ofc., but I don't think it will work out, to many individual players who will focus more on themselves rather than the team.

nah refrezh is a consistent fragging machine. Even if he's getting stomped, he'll put up 20 kills, and that's what heroic need, something stable to balance out their volatile players

Heroic needs some support players, cadiaN is there as an IGL, but now that they removed b0RUP and niko they don't have any supportive elements, and either one of their player will get support positions and do 0.80 rating because no one of them can be a good support (because they are young and talented), or faster they will crumble and make more changes.

+1 also let's see how refrezh will perform in niko's roles. niko is a very smart player and personally I like his playstyle cause he's only aggressive when it's really calculated. Also he's very consistent which many players can't achieve. Now compare that to refrezh who is a much more aggressive player who's very hit or miss and might carry the shit out of you or he can go bot mode and perform worse than b0rup.

Esports is for the most part a money drainer. Most teams (besides a few of the very top teams) are losing money monthly. Very few orgs actually make profit off of CS. Unless you’re one of those very top teams making bank the only other way to make cash and justify having a CS team financially is to sell off your players. Business isn’t just about keeping your team relevant and getting the best squad possible. Also on a side note, let’s be real no org wants to be the scum that stops their players from joining a better team if presented the opportunity. I’m glad they work with their players on finding a future.

I like the +sjuushh move, but I don't like the +refrezh move. sjuuush was probably the 2nd best player in MAD Lions for a good bit of time, and had shown to be a consistent plyaer. Refrezh is very inconsistent, and I'm not convinced he can compete against Tier 1 opposition. I feel like +kjaerbye or +cajunb may have made more sense, adding in experience to a pretty young team.

Been a fan of Heroic for a long time, and it always hurts to see a change in the line-up. You can argue that it's needed, and you might be right - but it's the people in the team I follow, and not the team name. But sure, I hope for the best with these new players.
