Dune Cup to act as MENA qualifier for BLAST Premier Spring Showdown
Middle Eastern and North African teams will have the chance to claim a spot at the BLAST event in April.
BLAST has teamed up with Calyx, an esports organizer and production company operating in the Middle East, to put together a MENA qualifier for BLAST Spring Showdown. Named Dune Cup, the qualifier will run on March 14-20 and see one team go through to the BLAST tournament.
The event will kick off with two open qualifiers, one for GCC countries and another for teams from Levant and North Africa, and will be played out in best-of-one brackets up until the semi-finals, when best-of-three series will take over.

The four open qualifier finalists will then join four invited teams in a three-day playoff on March 18-20, where they will fight for the coveted BLAST Premier Spring Showdown spot as well as a $25,000 participation fee.
To compete in the GCC qualifier, teams will be required to have at least three citizens/residents from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain or Kuwait, while the Levant and North Africa qualifier will serve teams and players from Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia, with the same three-player rule enforced.
