niko to stand in for OG in DH Masters Spring qualifier

The Dane will be stepping in for OG amid reports of his permanent signing with the organization.

OG will be using Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen as a stand-in during the DreamHack Masters Spring Europe Closed Qualifier, the organization announced before their first match in the tournament against Nordavind at 17:00 .

The 22-year-old will step in as a replacement for Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt, who was benched from the team late last month after the two sides "didn't agree on how to consistently perform at the highest level".

niko steps in for OG

niko, who has been sitting on Heroic's bench since late-February after Ismail "refrezh" Ali and Rasmus "sjuush" Beck took his and Johannes "b0RUP" Borup's place in the active roster, has been closely linked with the European side for the past week after HLTV.org reported that OG had expressed interest in signing the Dane.

The DreamHack Masters Spring closed qualifier will run from March 6-7 and is set to hand out three spots at the $250,000 main event, which the organizers are hoping to host in a studio location on LAN on April 29-May 9.

OG's lineup for the DreamHack Masters Spring closed qualifier will be:

Finland Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen
Jordan Issa "ISSAA" Murad
United Kingdom Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski
Denmark Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså
Denmark Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen (stand-in)

Denmark Casper "ruggah" Due (coach)

Actually, I dont think smooya's been toxic for a while. He had to leave Chaos because of location issues etc. I think his toxic period was before his time in Chaos? Whereas mertz seems to end up in another team every couple of months

bot issaa bot valde bot aleksib bot mantuu fair? Or maybe the in-game leading of aleksib is not good. They have really to convince with this qualifier and EPL. If they can't perform and qualify, the problem was and is not NBK but unfortunately, the synergy in the team and the first person responsible is the in game leader.
2021-03-06 20:18
stand-in aka potential new signing perfect opportunity to test the waters

They test him for days (weeks?) so if he's not signed yet, it means they are not 100% convinced of him or they spot another problem (the real one) but don't want to call back NBK by ego? =D Don't mention "buyout" delay, stop with this "delay" bs. It's a fucking lie people mention to show the lack of velocity.

where did i say anything about delay? you just sound like a mad nbk fan, honestly what real problem are you talking about?
2021-03-06 20:24

I just preshot stupid answer =D The problem is in the in-game lead of aleksib. I've still one specific round in mind on Nuke where they take ramp and kill 3 people, were in 5v2 but hold the place for 20-30 second before going down and planting... It's one round in many others where the strategy and tactic are not on point for months. I love OG as an org but on this, they really screwed.
2021-03-06 20:28
Not a fan of this. So many better free agents available, so many better players in shitty teams for you to poach.... Whatever. GL Niko I guess, and more importantly GL to OG.
2021-03-06 20:44
The guy actually thinks he can sign for a better team just cuz they had that fluke run with heroic
