FURIA outclass MIBR to book playoff spot in ESL Pro League

Four teams are now in the running for just one playoffs spot left in Group C.

FURIA have booked their third consecutive victory in Group C in ESL Pro League after a convincing performance in the Brazilian derby against MIBR (2-0; Overpass 16-8, Inferno 16-8).

Andrei "arT" Piovezan and company and Gambit are currently tied for first place in the group, with both teams sitting on a 3-0 record and already securing at least a top-three finish and a place in the playoffs as a result. The last spot is up for grabs between the remaining four teams ahead of the last two rounds of the round-robin.

FURIA got off to a flying start in the series on Overpass, after they put up a wall on the defense despite losing early forcebuy battles, with arT, Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo, and Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato all pitching in with key multikills to seize control in the first gunrounds.

MIBR only clinched one more round by the end of the half thanks to Gustavo "yel" Knittel's 1v3 clutch and found themselves between a rock and a hard place when they were unable to convert a pistol round win into some momentum at the beginning of the second half, and FURIA rallied to a 16-8 win on the opener.

arT dominated the Brazilian matchup

Things went from bad to worse for MIBR on Inferno, which FURIA played for the first time officially since adding Paytyn "junior" Johnson. Their opponents ran rampant on the Terrorist side outside of a four-round run that went the other way, and it was all smooth sailing from FURIA from there on as FURIA locked in a 2-0 victory with a near-perfect defense.

"We were hiding [Inferno] because we knew it was really strong," VINI said after the match when asked about why FURIA took their time to start playing Inferno. "We saw the veto against MIBR and it was our best choice."

Yes, i agree. On t side he still as aggressive as ever but on ct he started to play more controlled. He is still aggressive but he has room to fall back and doesn't commit to one and done positions. Like underpass, mid mirage push, fountain push and so on. He is looking on point. As of the 3rd match he is the best player of the tournament tied with ropz.

We don't know is that true or false. They should.. No, the MUST to play against Apeks, Galaxy Riders, Copenhagen Flames and of course legendary team Wisla Krakow, only after that we can talk about things like that.

Worst org ever. Deserve every spanking they had. Imagine hiring a team who was smurfing on Brasil CS but not hiring their best player (felps) and immediately putting them to compete against tier 1 teams... that’s the brains behind MIBR. FURIA took at least 5 months to adapt playing in EU, and they were the best NA team when they got out of US last year.

+1 sadly
2021-03-21 23:44
it was not their fault they lost felps, felps wanted to go to godsent, and don´t blame the players, it was completely the fault of the org

but dont you think it was a bad decision putting them against tier 1 teams in Europe?

+1, it was madness putting a team used to BR and Latin cs to compete against the tier 1 without at least a month of training The poor Danoco is just now starting to perform better
