DreamHack Masters Spring team list finalized

Ten teams have been invited to complete the list of participants of the $250,000 event.

DreamHack has revealed the full list of teams who will attend DreamHack Masters Spring on April 29-May 9. Ten teams received direct invites based on their partnered status or standing in the ESL world ranking.

Natus Vincere, Astralis, G2, FaZe, and mousesports received a slot thanks to their partnership with ESL, while Gambit, Virtus.pro, Vitality, BIG, and FURIA secured participation as the highest-ranked teams.

NAVI will be in action at DreamHack Masters Spring

The aforementioned decet will join six other teams who claimed their slot either via qualifiers in Europe and North America — Heroic, Fiend, Complexity, and Extra Salt — or by winning DreamHack Open January (Spirit and paiN).

It was originally announced at the beginning of the year that DreamHack Masters Spring would take place at a studio location. However, it's likely that the event will be moved online due to restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, which remains a serious issue across the globe, after ESL decided to scrap their plans of holding the ESL Pro League Season 13 playoffs on LAN.

i mean they shouldve received an invite considering they took ESL ranking into account (liquid is #6 on the esl ranking) they mustve decided to not play this event

Yeah, I've just checked esl ranking and I don't know why aren't they here Why don't they want to play it? I remember NaVi declined invitation to dh masters winter, but they were training with b1t and preparing to 6-men roaster at that time so it was reasonable

I mean, the fact that they were ok with Fallen playing with 3 digit ping and grandpa reaction timing was enough hinting towards how serious they were taking it. But God Saffee too hot to handle for them

well they should of gotten an invite considering that pain defeated them for a qualifier to IEM summer, not dreamhack masters

Oh. Well I really didn't remember what tourny qualifier was that and just took his word for it. Probably Liquid are gonna be back in NA by that time so they opted out

yea i guess in time they will get better. I think every player showed the glimpses of their former selves in the matches but think they would all need to be consistent with it.

just for that? why don't they get invited randomly like other teams?

Elige said it on Reddit that they chose to play the DH Open NA instead because the DH Master would require them to stay in EU for 13 weeks.

Yes but the article says they invited teams based on ESL world rankings too.

dreamhack open march says that extra salt got an invite to iem summer 2021, not dreamhack masters spring tho...?

yea I realized it now idk its strange that liquid didnt got an invite

there was a separate dh masters qualifier that extra salt won, it seems like liquid just refused the invite since they're above other teams that got invited off of world ranking
