Complexity advance to second round of ESL Pro League playoffs over NAVI

NAVI failed to win a single pistol round, starting all four halves in the series on the back foot.

Complexity knocked Natus Vincere out of the ESL Pro League Season 13 playoffs with a 2-0 victory on Dust2 (16-8) and Mirage (16-11), moving on to the second round of bracket play.

Natus Vincere couldn't shake off the image they put forth in the group stage, where they scraped by barely making it to the tournament’s playoff stage, and trailed behind Complexity since the beginning of their own map pick. It appeared as if the CIS squad would be able to make things competitive on Mirage, managing a 9-3 lead early on with a fiery Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev manning the AWP, but they were ultimately unable to push the series to a decider map on the attacking side.

Complexity will now play Virtus.pro, who made a heroic comeback against ENCE in their first playoff series, in the next round of the bracket on Sunday at 19:00 for a spot in the quarter-finals. "We have a good chance of beating [Virtus.pro]," Benjamin "blameF" Bremer said in the post-match interview, "they're an insane team but either team can win and we definitely expect and hope to win."

RUSH got his highest rating so far this year in the first map of the series

Complexity looked in complete control early on as the defending team on Dust2, their away map in the series, taking a 6-0 lead before Natus Vincere could contest a round, although the CIS squad finally brought the half back to a palatable 6-9, keeping the map open before switching over to the CT side.

blameF and company then picked back up on the attack, taking the second pistol round and putting some distance between themselves and their rivals, who were only able to tally two successful defenses as Complexity plowed their way to a 16-8 map win as red-hot William "RUSH" Wierzba led the way with seven opening kills and a 1.66 rating.

Complexity made it three for three in pistol rounds on the attacking side of Mirage, but Natus Vincere were quick to react this time around, winning the third-round eco to propel themselves into the lead and take a dominating position as s1mple caused havoc round after round with his AWP. Down 3-9 Complexity were finally able to find their footing, winning three rounds to shorten the distance on the scoreboard in hopes of finding a way back into the map in the second half.

Once again Natus Vincere failed to convert on a pistol round and were tied by Complexity in the third round of the half, 9-9, after Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke won a 1vs1 against Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy. The two teams then traded blows and remained equal after 22 rounds, but two big rounds by blameF put Complexity on track to victory as they went on to close out the map and series 16-11 to proceed to the next round of play.

sadly that wont fix navi's problems. their T side is atrocious, they cant decide where tf they wanna go until there's 20 secs left and they just run into the closest bombsite like morons. i really dont understand whats going on with their t side...

I don't feel that its indecision, but rather a strategy of building the tension and trying to find slips from CTs until the very last moment. When it works, it works wonders and clearly leaves the opposite team shaken. When it doesnt, NaVi look kinda stupid. I feel like its playing "opposite CT": instead of attacking the bomb, you gain space and try to force the CTs into attacking you, pushing through the bomb when they are most vulnerable.
2021-04-03 23:55
True, they really need to figure out how to control the pace more on T and not rely on s1mple to carry every fking round

-flamie -Blad3 but move him to the youngster team as he does have an eye for up and coming talent. Keep boombl4 to see if he can improve his calling under a new coach, if not cut him too. I don't think B1T should be a permanent fix, Na'Vi should splash out some money on the massive amount of talent in the CIS region.

Is really someone impressed with this?? Navi is s1mple +4 and thats a fact. There is always S1mple positive and more 1 or 2 (max) in some games. The only player that (for me) is tier1 is s1mple. Flamie is trolling and the others aren't consistent, maybe B1T is the best among them 5.S1mple needs a better team and thats a fact. With this 4 fking bots its impossible for him to win something.. All of this is JUST MY OPINION

Imo electronic is also tier 1 but inconsistent. And bit has potential. Perfecto lacks confidence and flamie is just washed up unless it's usp rounds.

i just agree with you on about b1t has potential. the others or play like a trash or play like s1mple .All of them are too inconsistent, unless s1mple. Thats why i think he should go to a better team that has actuall good and consistent players.

No VP its not a good team for s1mple. VP team is done, and all of them are young so all of them have a great future. S1mple is not in the final days but have, max 5 years for playing. I think he should reconsider a team that atleast is top15 and has good players. For me he should go to Faze, because Faze isnt playing that well, and needs to change, thats why S1mple fits well in the team. They have cold, who was the best player 16-17, Twistzz, who for me is the golden boy of the cs. Niko is a Beast, IMO one of the best aim that is in the scene rn. And thats it. I think S1mple deserves top3 team, and rn Navi is not that. Its obvious that s1mple is the best and he cant play alone. Who the fuck loses to COL?? S1mple need a better team and thats a fact
2021-04-04 15:45
