suNny, flusha team up in new international roster
The lineup that has been in the works since the start of the year has finally been revealed.
A new international roster put together by Robin "flusha" Rönnquist and Miikka "suNny" Kemppi has been announced. The duo has teamed up with ex-c0ntact star Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas as well as former ENCE member Jere "sergej" Salo and is set to trial Buğra "Calyx" Arkın as their final piece.
The permanent quartet has signed with an unnamed new organization, which is currently in the process of being set up and will be revealed "as soon as everything is ready on their end," according to suNny.
"Today we can finally confirm that this project is actually happening and we have started to practice. It will be a long road ahead but happy to work with these players," the 26-year-old Finn has told HLTV.org. "Four of us have signed and we will be starting with flusha, sergej, EspiranTo, me, and trialing Calyx as our last piece of the puzzle."
The move sees sergej officially depart ENCE five months after he decided to step down from the squad due to issues with motivation and begin his mandatory military service in Finland. Meanwhile, flusha has also formally ended his third stint with fnatic, where he has been benched since the beginning of the year.
The new lineup has been in the works since the start of 2021 but hit a couple of snags in the meantime, as a lack of interest from established esports organizations put the project on hold in February and caused Timothy "autimatic" Ta, one of the original core members, to accept an offer to switch to VALORANT.
To learn more about how the team was put together, we sat suNny for an in-depth interview, which will be released later this week. In it, the Finn explained that the project became alive again over the course of the past two months as the core began talks with the new organization after sergej and EspiranTo came into the picture along with a different fifth player, who ended up pulling out at the last minute.
The brand new roster once again looks as follows:
