Dignitas replace Heroic in FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final
The Danish side pulled out of the $250,000 tournament set to start on Monday claiming schedule conflicts.
Casper "cadiaN" Møller's team is one of the hottest things in Counter-Strike at the moment, having gone undefeated since the additions of Ismail "refrezh" Ali and Rasmus "sjuush" Beck in February. The ESL Pro League Season 13 winners have pulled out of FunSpark ULTI ahead of their final match in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, with their next confirmed event being DreamHack Masters Spring which starts on April 29.
The team under the leadership of Adam "friberg" Friberg caught attention in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown where they eliminated Liquid with a 2-0 scoreline. Dignitas has recently also defeated teams such as HAVU, Sprout, and Sinners, and climbed to the 28th spot in the world ranking, with another step forward possible on Monday.
With the last-minute change, Dignitas will slot right into the spot in the bracket that was reserved for the highest-ranked team at the event, Heroic, and take on Evil Geniuses in their opening match on April 20.
FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Finals, originally planned as a LAN event in China, will be played out using a double-elimination BO3 bracket online. The winner of the tournament will take home the majority of the prize pool, a total of $150,000.
